My divorce finalized this week. She got half. Plus, I'll be paying a shitload of money a month for a long time.

My ex took a couple of pieces of furniture and my Land Rover, but I ultimately got sole custody of my daughter and now she owes me about 70k and counting. It can be done, but it will not be easy.

I loved my wife of 13 years and talked about the things were going to do in retirement only a few days before she left. You never know what is going on in their head until it is to late.

Evidence will always help, he needs to catch her in the act. Ask him where she will be the next time she is on the road and I'll rail her on tape..that will get her, good

I married a competent business professional woman and if we ever divorced we would have a simple divorce and go our seperate ways. We have our own money, separate accounts and the only thing we have together is one joint account we have about 12K in we would split. She would come out on top because she has made a lot more money than I have and its in her account not mine. The only thing we would have to split is the equity in our house and she could easily cover half with cash and I would be on my way. If she didn't want to give it to me then I would let her have it anyway, considering she paid all the mortgage payments the last 5 years.

Whatever you inherit is not subject to the community.
Aside from that, you have only been married five years. Cut your losses and move on. Sounds like you're young enough to start over.
Hopefully, no kids involved.
Also remember that in addition to the assets that go into the community, debt incurred also goes into the community.
Find a way of coming up with $25,000 cash (even if you have to take out a loan), and offer her a certified check for the amount in exchange for releasing all claims to your assets. Eyes can go "ga ga" when that check is whiffed in front of their nose.

who the frick was your lawyer, Clarence Darrow?
Idk who that is, but I had a female lawyer. She was great! I make 90% of our combined incomes and I pay 3$$. We are a true 50/50 though, that changes things.

I don't care how much the husband makes its half hers too. Don't like it? Don't get married. It's always boggled my mind when married people talk about his and her money too. And this is coming from a guy whose ex did everything you can possibly imagine.
I've had physician friends go part time so that their wife would make more money as them so that alimony is reduced or even negated.

she gets "half" of whatever they accumulate in that time period (not ALL his shite), assuming there is no prenup
This...as long as he can document whatever he had prior to the marriage, he doesn't have to part with that portion. They only divide assets obtained during the marriage.

This Man Speaks the truth .
This is how women operate. I love it when i'm at work and a woman will say ," Hey girl hows it going?" to other woman and they chat for like 5 mins. I then ask, "who was that?" and they like oh that B*tch i cant stand her. . Women can lie to your face with a smile.
