Ever been to Hobbs? Artesia?

Isnt that like having to work in Lake Charles or Shreveport and then declaring the entire state of Louisiana is terrible? Smart.
NJ has some beautiful areas.
(The parts right outside NYC are pretty horrible, though)
Shreveport and LC ARE terrible. I would amend the OP to say that everything within 20 miles of NYC in New Jersey is the worst place in America, but I'm not.

I'll be more specific. SW New Mexico is pretty shitty.

Jersey is terrible. But at least part of the state is adjacent to New York, so that's at least something.
Alabama is next to literally nothing worthwhile.

Defending LC here.
Why do you lump LC with Shreveport?
I have been to 30+ states and I don't think LC is that bad compared to what I have seen including most other Louisiana Metro areas.
Some of the best hunting and fishing in the country can be found here.
Yeah, we have plants and industry here but if you drive, watch TV or use a computer, heat or cool your house, etc, chances are the plastics, gas, natural gas, rubber and most anything you take for granted and use on a daily basis has some connection to our industries.
I'll accept your put down of LC when you move to the mountains and go off the grid.
Then you can bitch about LC without being a hypocrite.

Because I can walk outside, close my eyes, take a big whiff and know I'm in LC.

Alabama has great coast and favorable countryside

The delta had a lot of natural scenery and plenty to do outdoors. Also some of the best agricultural land in the world. What's not to like about that?
Black people, baw.

It's actually a beautiful state.

I've got more in common with country black folks that white northeasterners.

Nothing wrong with LC. Much better than anything in northern Louisiana
For me, nothing is worse than Oklahoma and Wisconsin

Same here. I have made so many black friends since moving up here that have great rabbit dogs and scent dogs. We hunt together a couple times a month. It's funny that the MSM preaches about all of us racists down here.
They should do a story on Boston.

Yep, used to hunt and fish with them. My best friend up here is a black bow hunter from Alabama. He's about as solid a guy as you'll meet.

I've always thought Shreveport had the nicest bones of any city in the state that's not New Orleans. It's kind of a sad place now, but it's still got that over Lake Charles - which is just so aesthetically bleh.

Well, I am in the downtown area and I do not have the same olfactory issues as you must have.
All I know is that I have been all over our great country and I know LC may not be the best but it sure is not in the OP's question of being the worst.
Within a half hour or so drive I can fish some of the best inland saltwater or bass fishing areas of the country and I also have the opportunities for good deer and waterfowl hunting.
Maybe you are not into the outdoors and that is cool.
Different strokes for different folks.

Shreveport had a lot of potential at one time. Time has just passed it by.
The square was kickass in the 70s and 80s though.
In the 50s through mid 70s, the Bossier Strip was nationally renown. Red River Babylon or Sin City, the neon was something to behold.
