For me, it's invites. I don't have FB so if someone sends out invites on FB I obviously do not get them.

Even if someone informs me about the event, I don't feel the need to go. Where as, if I get an invite in the mail or that person calls me specifically to invite me, I will go if I do not have anything already planned.

This past weekend my nephew had a party for his 2 year old and they sent out invites on FB. I was told about it, but didn't go. Someone asked me why I didn't go in a "implying you should have gone" type way. I told them my rule. They made a comment as if I was just using that as an excuse, but I really do think invites should be something more personable.

Anyone got any "old school" rules you practice?

I'm "old school" when it comes to accepting responsibility. You know like when you make a bet. You should honor the stipulations to said bet

But what's funny to me is that you although you don't like my threads, you feel the need to comment in them. I ignore threads I don't like or have an interest in.

I still mail votes of no confidence to posters via USPS. You should be receiving yours in 1-2 days.

If you ignore me, it would be just like I was honoring my bet.

Yes. I don't use the term 'old school'. Old fashioned or classic, maybe.

I’m “old school” about certain types of stores. If I find a store I like, I go there. I don’t care if it is 15 minutes farther than a closer option.

For example, I’ll drive to the old school hardware store for something as simple as air filters and screws before I ever set foot in Lowe’s or Wal Mart. You just can’t beat someone asking you what you they can help you find as soon as you walk in. Plus there’s always a pot of coffee on.

Black people call me old school. I guess because I'm old.

It sounds like you weren't invited? Lots of people don't typically show up to a 2 year old's bday party that they just "heard about." Wouldn't it be kinda weird if you just rolled on in? What if you were emailed an invitation?

I actually get out the car, knock on her door and then open the car door for her when I go picking my lady up. None of that texting her I'm here bullshite and waiting in the car.

I like the game a lot, I play it.. But I will be honest, that shite gets annoying sometimes. But I have learned that just because some of those fricks can throw up walls and all really fast, doesn't mean they are just as good as going head to head. If possible, as soon as they start building, I will hurry up and try to hide and just wait for them to expose themselves.

I try to never borrow things, but if I borrow something it always goes back in better shape than I picked it up.

Always give help more often than you ask for it, and you don't frick with someone else's desk. it's just disrespectful.

I'd prefer if this was the case.

That's kind of my point. They assume that I will be told about it (which I am by the person they assume will tell me), but they just tell me "__________ is having _________'s birthday party on ____________". While I know that is them inviting me, but I am saying is, don't assume I will go if that is how I am invited.

I don't use GPS. Mainly because I get tired of it turning down the music to give directions.
