Should be a well orchestrated fight.

We had to scramble to find a new home for our office Christmas party after that BS. But we landed ok.

Clarify which Brennans you're talking about here.

A very important detail here.
Meh. I get it. Seems like the Brennans were getting a sweetheart deal with their lease. But the Werlein’s are being kind of petty knowing how much the Brennan’s invested in the building. Maybe it’s their way of trying to recoup perceived loss of income from the three decades of below market rent the Brennan’s enjoyed. Whose bright idea was it to do a 30 year lease, anyway?

Yup. $8,000 a month is probably a steal today. However, rent was going to go from $96,000 per year to $540,000, no small change.
A pity they can't agree on how much credit to give for improvements.

I don’t know anything about the details. But, just from reading the articles/new stories on the issue, it sounded like Dickie Brennan had some sort of option to buy the property and the price would be based on the 2025 fair market value. Further, they couldn’t agree on what the fair market value was. Further, that is now the subject of litigation.
Was that wrong? Was there some sort of property value component in determining what a new monthly lease would be?

The Brennans took a massive risk.
The only reason to walk within blocks of that location was the Palace Cafe. Put the old pianos back and let the place rot.
