I haven't seen much lately. It seems like it's been a few weeks since I've even seen any "scare" type info at all.

Is there something I'm missing, or are can we finally be done with this shite? Is there some super Upsilon variant coming down the pike that I just haven't heard about and that they're fixing to crank up the hoopla over?

There is a 0% chance that they don't at least try to keep it up until November 2022. Get ready for the next variant

they’ll drum up the fear mongering again soon if they need cover for the stagnant economy, rising inflation, border crisis, Afghanistan failures, and President Dementia saying something stupid.

I dont think Delta is finished up North, but we all know it will be within a month or so.

So in short, i agree there's a good chance its over realistically.

Whether the media allows it to be over any time soon is anyone's guess.

Cases and hospitalizations are all way down "Bigly". Thus the LDH and propaganda machines at the Sadvocate & Nola have gone into Covid doesn't exist mode, and have been like this since hospitalizations and cases started to drop.

Wait until the first uptick from whatever the next scare variant is and every front page story will be about how the vaccine is the only way to be safe, and how covid is going after our kids, etc...

Up north?

But I I thought it was all of us toothless rednecks down south refusing to get the vaccine, Florida and Texas being wide open that was keeping Rona alive.

Covid is still a public health emergency according to the federal government. The decision regarding the renewal for this declaration is about a week away.

Are we even aware of one at this point, though? If not, shouldn't that be seen as a promising fact?

Based on what data, though? That's what I'm asking.

Define "over".

There are new cases in my area. Quite a lot of them actually. But nowhere near the peak.

i think the safe assumption is no. Because if it was yes, it would be the headline.

There's a Mu variant out there right now, but I haven't really paid attention much to see what the expectations are with it. We thought it was pretty much over back around April and May of this year. People were getting vaccinated and the alpha variant had about run its course, then summer hit and the Delta variant took hold and anti-vaccination talking points started to spread.
