I wasn’t talking about this instance - whoa said BRPD isn’t going to investigate this bc there are a lot of ODs
A poster replied and said if ODs are that prevalent then the police should be investigating dealers and trap houses
BRPD doesn’t investigate anything - so why would this case be any different?
I’m not sure why you thought I think they should investigate this. Unless you’re just trying to make me look like a jerk for saying he deserved it. Which he did because he made those choices. He did this to himself.

Dude was a recovering addict. Let’s assume there’s some chance in hell he didn’t drink on the first trip to Happy’s, stopped off at LSU, then rolled to the strip club and didn’t order booze. It’s been over a decade, but I recall you still have to order some sort of drink no matter what. I’ve been party to friends being roofied at multiple strip clubs when not drinking, so what are the odds he got roofied, which triggered this spiral to the bottom?
I suppose no one cares to look into this, but could this in any way bring charges to the club?

Unless the laws are different in Louisiana, I’m pretty sure you actually have to have evidence to charge a crime, not based upon an anecdote about a friend of yours at a different club a decade ago.

Not sure why it matters if he had life insurance. Life insurance is to make sure that what you tended to in life is tended to after death in addition to covering the funeral. You can name anyone as a beneficiary as it is the policy holder's choice. Minors cannot make decisions, so the mother or guardian of the minor would be trusted to handle the situation.
But, here is what you should know. You cannot obtain life insurance proceeds until a death certificate is issued. A death certificate WILL NOT be issued until toxicology reports are completed. So this family will not have income for about three months unless Nathan's employers workers comp plan will cover his loss of income. Not sure how that would work as he was on a work trip, but yet died after working hours.
But to answer your question, Nathan's minor children will receive a social security benefit until they turn 18 that will be distributed to the mother of the child. The daughter will indeed receive one that will go to the wife. As far as the older children go, I saw that they were adopted to someone else. If that is indeed the case, they will not receive the benefit, which would go to their mother.
Widows receive no social security benefits other than the one time $239 laughable funeral expense reimbursement. A non married widow can collect her husband's social security at the age of 60 if she makes $18,000 or less annually.
It is likely Nathan's employer had a basic life insurance policy of $25,000 or less as that is standard for most companies to provide for all employees. Workers Comp may have covered return of the body since it was a work trip, but again I am not sure since the circumstances around the disappearance was not when work was being done.

It is no secret that crime has been out of control in Baton Rouge for some time. Maybe this case will kickstart changes to make Baton Rouge a better and safer place.

Not true at all. People tend to think it's anything goes at a strip club but penthouse runs a very tight ship. They don't require you to drink and they protect their employees

My god when will you people stop. Just stop thinking of the most asinine shite to post. You wonder why the wife is pulling shite out of her arse to blame BRPD? We have posters thinking of even stupider shite to deflect blame.

I saw a scene in a movie where a customer got handsy with a stripper. The manager was all apologetic to the guy. If that happens IRL the bouncers most likely beat the shite out of him.

Can't she also claim the "widows portion" of SS until his youngest child is 16?

I'm not sure if them not being legally married effects this or if common law is sufficient.

Not to sound cold, but if the family filed a Work comp claim I would deny it.

For reasons of equity, and to be more inclusive. It was very insensitive to insinuate that only crack users were welcomed there. In this day and age, those houses welcome almost any type of drug user. We're a much better world for it.

Right. BR ain’t shite but it doesn’t deserve the slandering it’s been getting because of this case
Correct BRPD might not deserve criticism for this specific case but it whole heartedly deserves criticism for its reputation. If they weren't so inept to begin, no one would be questioning them on this case.
