Doesn't seem like an OD if his body was wrapped in a rug and plastic.

I still have a strange feeling about this business partner. I'm thinking of the distance to the dump site from his last known locations. You'd need a car to transport. I'm assuming not too many BR homeless have a car and gas money. Further, to take the time to wrap in plastic, then a rug. If you are an anonymous drug dealer/homeless/street person you aren't too worried about disposing of a body. And that is a lot of hard work, generally motivated by someone afraid of being linked to a crime. Didn't an earlier post mention the business partner hustling that rental car back to the airport ASAP? Is it possible that the car was somehow used in the crime? I'm just a humble keyboard detective with a degree from Spotify University of True Crime Podcasts, but this doesn't feel random to me.

How do you think he ended up where he was found? Someone drove him? My BR geography is a bit foggy so how far from Happy's is it to where he was found? 2-3 miles?
If I had to speculate, either he od'd or was killed in a trap house (leaning towards OD if his DoC was opioids), then they waited a few days, got the stuff to wrap him in, and dumped him there late one night

From what has been released to the public so far, I think you are all correct to be confused AF right now. This shite doesn't make sense.

Kiran's story says that video shows him with a homeless man on Florida St. I'm wondering if he was with this homeless man asking him where he could find his drug of choice. Homeless man gave him directions to where he could find it, and he went there and was either killed or OD'd. Dealer wrapped the body and went throw it.
Hopefully any other DNA on the rug or plastic besides the victim will lead to an arrest.

This is my bet

It’s possible the homeless man just hooked him up with the drug dealer. I would imagine a drug dealer would have a vehicle.

I would guess that the story of what ultimately went down could be varying...the guy could have died yesterday or he died a week ago...the level of decomposition will inform that.
I think the "Badly decomposing" (and the fact someone smelled it just driving by) suggest, what was always the most likely scenario, that he was deceased within 24 hours of being last seen at happy's.

Does it really matter at this point what was in his system??

You can. But not easily. If you have a bad heart maybe. But the way it hits people its hard to do enough to reach OD levels unless you have a bad heart.
A recent COVID booster shot along with the aforementioned substances.

About how far was it though from DT? I'm sure Lyft will be contacted to see if he made another trip using his app.

Not saying it's the business partner although it's a damn weird circumstance to be the last known person to see him alive. Maybe he overdosed business partner's hotel room or rental car and he dumped him. Seems like there would be video footage either way with all the hotel cameras and security cameras downtown.
People get killed in north Baton Rouge, but rarely middle aged white guys here on business. And thugs that rob people out of opportunity don't bother moving the people they murder.
There are cameras on 3rd street in front of most of those restaurants and businesses. Shouldn't be hard to find him walking towards his hotel after he left Happy's. It would be kind of suspicious if he wasn't on camera in front of Happy's, The Watermark, the ATM by B&T's, B&T's, Stonehenge, and the Marriott itself.

I care whether he OD'd vs murdered but I don't really care what drugs he was on necessarily other than curiosity.

Some crackhead has probably been looking for his rug for the past few weeks.
It probably really tied the room together at the crack house.

I just drove by there. It looks like some news cars parked at the funeral home with people milling around. I think the funeral home has been closed for a while.

Glad they found him on camera somewhere. Should be easy to track his movements at least while he was downtown. There are cameras all over the place there.

If his wife has Life360 on NM's phone, that could possibly paint a much clearer painting. Could have been pinged at a crack house and ditched during the disposal
ETA: Could explain why they were so adamant that the crime didn't take place downtown and lack of reporting

I agree. I really
Don’t think he overdosed. They should be able find murder wounds in autopsy.

Do you expect anything different from the BRPD? Just think back to Allison Rice, Madison Brooks etc. How confusing that was and then BRDP holding press conferences only adding to the confusion. On top of that, those press conferences where mostly about defending their ineptitude.
