There are too many people in college who should not be there, and there are to many programs to put those people in school. Unless you have a "relevant" degree, a college degree is nothing more than a glorified high school diploma. However, for millenials and Gen-Xers to blame the Boomers for all of their failings is just idiotic and silly.

I agree, but it's hard to ignore this scenario:
- Boomers for the most part didn't go to college. They encouraged their children to do so so they could have a better life as college was the ticket to success.
- At the same time boomers were driving up costs of everything, in particular, higher education.
- Now boomers won't retire because their pensions and retirement plans have been slashed and all those educated people with large amounts of higher education debt are underemployed.
Yes, there is a great deal of personal responsibility that these newer generations have to take. But Boomers seem to ignore the difference in the scale that they created.

If you want to do this subject justice you will have to examine the family unit beginning before the industrial revolution.
Study hoe parents viewed kids on farms, ranches, etc. Move forward in time and notice where the population concentrated as industry grew. Notice the change in the family unit - family size, duties and free time of kids.
So who started our pathway to shitdom?? It isn't a "generation" fault. It's phuqueing city people
s fault.
To compound the matter look at the shitholes they created in the process. Now they/you are running back out to the very parts of the country they ran from ... and phuqueing it up too.

Life is tough. I've roofed houses for over 30 years to provide for my wife and four children. Two girls are both married with degrees and doing wonderful. They are ate up with student loans but hey that's life. Neither son went to college. One is in the military. Other just started his own detailing business and is doing great. You can't sit around and piss and moan about how hard my generation has made your lives. It's a shite storm. But you have to make the best of it.

True. They shouldn't blame them for their Personal Failings, but for creating the environment that currently exists-- that's ALL on the Boomers.
They drive up prices, mishandle their own retirements, creating the Housing bubble, don't retire, and then tell kids to just work.
All the while they've built them up not only tell them that they HAVE to go to college, but that anything but being a lawyer or doctor is a failure. Of course kids with that mentality, one of extreme self-importance, are going to rather not work then take a crap job.
They also said that getting a college degree means automatic jobs. Expectations are out of whack.

What generation was it that overbought on housing and then couldn't pay the note, thus crashing the market? Every baby boomer I know is still in their house paying their note, and most like me have paid it off.

This is the Boomers' fault how?
Most of those educated people with large amounts of debt may have gone into a field that is either saturated or not marketable. Perhaps they should have gone to a vo-tech school to learn a trade. That's my grandparent's generation. My grandfather is a retired Vietnam vet chief master sergeant in the Air Force. My grandmother has always been a stay at home mom/wife as far as I know. I don't think they have been a drain on the country. In fact I'd say he's probably given far more than he's got. I know he's got them set to live out the rest of their days in comfort.
