Screwed it up? because you are too lazy to get an education? to start at the bottom, work your arse off to get a better paying job to provide for you and your family? Live in a trailer to start with? You kidding? Just like a poster earlier said, you gotta have a the lastest phone, drive the best car, wear the best designer clothes, eat out 3 times a day, want a management position without any experience, sponge off your parents which causes them to NOT be able to retire because they have to pay for you and your kids if you have any, etc. YOU screwed it up yourselves. Life isn't fair. Get off your arse and get to work. I'll be wanting ALL of my $$$$ I've put into the system. Nobody owes you anything

There's also a real case to be made that feeling good and attention is the chief driver. When you don't have shite and they hand it over to someone who has less shite than they do and don't tell anyone about it, I'll then believe it's become a better group of humans.

Maybe too much of it, and it's all because of the bullshite environment that your generation created. I love the absolute irony in this. It would be like me bitching at the generation after this for being entitled with hoverboards, wanting to have jobs dealing with virtual environments that they'll almost for sure understand on average more than we will, and wanting to have good clothes to wear. i detect a bit of animosity. Tell me, are you college educated and if so, in what. Live with your parents still? How much is your monthly phone bill. How much do you spend on average a day on eating. How much credit card debt do you have. Do you have a job in your field?

Yeah, what a retarded argument. Our generation is without question less materialistic than the Boomers. Honestly if you give us a iPhone, a laptop, and a half way decent apartment, I'd say most are pretty content.
Our generation doesn't give a frick about cars, so much so that car companies are really freaking out that Generation Y isn't investing in cars, and it has nothing to do with whether their parents buy them or not. They just don't see the need for them if they live in a major city with great public transit. We're brand oriented, sure, but it doesn't mean we "demand the best".

My 2 daughters that thought they needed to go to college because it was the new "in". frick your picks.
They had no clue what they were going to college for. We had already paid for private high school and they could have gone to many college's on schollys. You cannot force 18 year old's to adhere to all of your rules.

I know you didn't ask me but I agree with OM.
Educated in business. I work in an area where a background in my speciality is important.
I don't have a cell phone bill. My wife's is $50. We have a $7/mo land line for the alarm.
No CC debt. And our monthly food budget is about $500/month.
