after racking up $40 worth of overages last month (300GB cap is utter crap btw) i went to see if i could upgrade my plan to avoid this in the future.
comcast can suck my dick. c'mon google fiber.

I had internet with Comcast for the last 2 years. For the last 6-7 months, they've waived our overages.
I moved last month to an area they didn't cover so had to cancel. They hit me with $30 of overages on my last bill and charged me like $1.24 for the last day of service. Yeah they're assholes

Time Warner Cable, who is now merging with Comcast.
I'm not aware with any data caps with TWC though, so if I'm forced into data caps once we are forced onto Comcast, I'm going to be pissed.

Absolutely. They're trying to make it as hard as possible to do without a TV package.
Mission accomplished for me. I have Uverse internet and TV now. It's really a PITA to try to make it work.

From these constant cable/ISP threads, Seems like "cutting the cord" is a novel idea but at the end of the day it's too much bs & not nearly worth the savings

This is precisely the conclusion I reached after about a year. Just ain't worth it so I'm paying the extra $80 or so a month.

I cancelled TV and haven't had any issues. It all depends how much TV you watch. I have a shitload of movies so I don't blow my internet usage out the water.

Charter is unquestionably the worst. They're all bad, but Charter has the hardware to prove its claim.
