I saw a girl I went to HS with has a daughter that just graduated HS who became a Realtor.

Not sure about you but I would never turn to an 18 year old to buy and sell RE.

You know it is bad when they aren't trying to be an esthetician

They are in the same bucket as personal injury lawyers. Way too many and it's all marketing

Realtors are worthless. Had some lady talk me into all the cosmetic upgrades when the market was on fire. In the time it took to do her recommended, full proof upgrades, the rates rise 3x and I prob lost out on quite a bit of buyers bidding over asking. Then had to pay the bitch 6%.

Like most things, if you hustle and work smart it can be a profitable career. Much better option than wasting 60k and 4 years to get a worthless degeee

There are like 50 realtors now in that area feels like

It’s a high growth area, but come on, surely it can’t support all of them….

This. It’s a landing point for idiots with no marketable skills.

The best realtors are the cheapest realtors because they all suck. Just get my listings on MLS and forward me emails.

I’ve used dozens. The best I have used was a dude that worked for 1% (+2.5% for buyers agent).

Paying an extra 2 or 3% to have eye candy isn’t worth it.

I was watching one of those silly hgtv shows years ago when real estate was going wild and they said that there were more licensed realtors in the state of CA than there were RE sales per year. So the average agent in CA sold <1 property per year.

Agreed. That agent that is charging 1% is certainly closing more deals per year than the agent charging 3% to list. There is no data out there that says the 3% agent nets you more money on the sale of your home. The amount of money they make per hour just to have a transaction on a home is absurd

Personal injury lawyers get a bad rep...they may be the most honest professionals in existence...unless you are brain dead you know exactly what they are if you are dealing with one...if they catch you off guard they did not mislead you you mislead yourself...Realtors, on the other hand, will pretend to know some shite that no one else could know, has your best interest at heart...again, if you fall for it its on you but a Lawyer never makes any indication that they are interested in anything other than their own self interest...gotta admire that.
