Fall of 2006. I got blown off by a chick I met in college. She contacted me 10 years later and said it was the biggest mistake she ever made.

It's funny this topic pops up today. Today would have been my mom's 67th birthday. Sadly she died 40 years ago at age 27. If I could go back it would be before she became really sick and just spend all my time with her and letting her know how much I loved her. Not only her, but others I lost early in life that I loved.

The last 2 years of high school and college. The funnest times, hanging with the coolest people, when times were simpler, and I felt like I had the world in the palm of my hands.

Being an adult sucks.

Mid-70s. For so many reasons. So many. Life could be so different.

2013. Alone in my apartment. Getting shitfaced and playing Black Ops 2 with my buddy online. No responsibility other than showing up for my retail job and paying the few bills I had.

Summer of 1989. My parents left town for 2 weeks, leaving me home alone, with instructions for the neighbor lady to "keep an eye on me". I had an older cousin that could buy beer and a friend that had failed a grade and was already driving while the rest of us were only 15. We stayed drunk by the pool and packed 9 dudes into a POS Buick Skylark to go see a free Warrant concert in the West End Marketplace. Best. Summer. Ever.

Graduation from HS. 1988, I would not change much of my life events (2 kids with an ex I would never change even though that experience sucked but my kids and now grands were worth it). I would have made a few investments that I regretted not doing and 1 career move i didnt make about 12 years ago.

I’d go back to 1999 and NOT do alot of things. Getting caught underage drinking twice, two car wrecks in 2000, trashing my moms house with a party. Would’ve studied harder in high school. I was wild

Missed out on this girl at 18 cause I was too shy (stupid). She’s still mad at me

As crazy as it may sound, I'm honestly the most content I've ever been right now. Early 40s two young kids (5&1). Got sober a year ago and the utter joy those little ones have brought me since then is unlike anything else I've ever felt in this life. The 5 year old boy has some serious special needs and it's insanely hard, but I've honestly never been happier. Truly loved growing up in the 80s, college was amazing, but I think if I could freeze time, I'd keep these munchkins right here and just be their daddy.

May 1980. I’d just turned 10, had not a care in the world, and The Empire Strikes Back was just coming to theaters.

99. Mom took me to a community college to sign up. I was so ashamed of being poor that I wouldn’t go in the financial aide office with her to finish everything. Ended up back at the same school 6 years later, in the financial aide office. What a dumbass.

Anytime pre Covid.
2018 seems about right.
Before our leaders and institutions imploded and WOKE/ Cancel culture destroyed our culture and the American dream.

Good times!

Mine would probably have to be any summer day around 1975. Man, what I wouldn’t give to have just one more Sunday sitting around the kitchen table with a big pile of her spaghetti…

.or to sit on the swing with my grandfather after he had been on a tractor all day in the late afternoon listening to the cicadas and eating pecans…

Or to sit around the fire at the hunting camp on a crisp fall night listening to LSU play football on the AM truck radio..

If I could have just one more day….

I wish I could go back to high school. I was so oblivious of so many things back then culturally and activities wise that I would have taken advantage of had I known about them. I'd still be a fat, socially awkward, weirdo, but at least I'd have been able to enjoy being so.

Hell yes. College. Being able to back some bikinis and drive to Florida for spring break with not a care in the world.
