Is there a tax atty in the house?

La Dept of Revenue is holding me hostage via suspended DL, preventing me from getting a Texas DL.
Was never notified there was a problem from a previous year, found out when denied Texas DL in 2015. Fixed the year in question, owed nothing on it (this took almost 5 weeks to do)
I go back to Texas DMV, then another flag shows up for another year from La state taxes (balance was 60 bucks!) This takes another month to fix, again, i owe nothing. This time i ask if somethong else is gonna pop up, and of course, it does -as of yesterday NOW I owe 2k for issues with 4 other years, including one when i wasn't even a resident of La.
I mean, what in the actual frick is going on over there?
Anyone have advice on who I go to as far as atty goes? It's obvious I need one.
TIA
TL;DR
Anyone recommend an La tax atty to me? I hate pulling a name out of google search....

BBONDS25 is and is usually found on the Poli Board. Though since he spends half of his day on TD and has less time for billable hours, he is pretty expensive.

Thanks.
The fastest consult I can get is Tuesday, by phone, and i just have a couple of questions on how to proceed.
I work, pay taxes, have NEVER needed or asked for a handout even when i was unemployed for 2 months, but La. Comes after me tooth and nail once I jump ship to Tx.
Beyond frustrating.

Odd thing to mention in a thread about not paying your taxes

Dude, I pay the equivalent of an entire salary just in taxes every year.
I never claimed to pay ALL of them, but so far I'm 2/2 vs. LA DEPT of Rev. But they want to re-examine every year it seems, with a month of time being used to verify each year, and Im being held hostage throughout.
This is a legit call for help, poke fun all yall want, i can take it.
Just hope this never happens to you. I wouldnt wish this on anyone.

2 for 2 huh
Yeah they dig into two years and realized that both years you cheated on your taxes, why wouldn't they dig into more years? Seems like a for sure bet they will find more gaffs
Good luck.... tPOS

I know it's a part of their on-going money grab operation, and I'm more than happy to pay what I owe...when they can prove what I owe and why. So far, they've come up with zilch and just keep digging...unable to explain why my balance due flies all over the place day to day...
Every time I call, I would get a different clueless state emp who gives a different answer and amount. Both times I stuck with one rep to work thru the year in question, it showed that year zeroed out without me owing a dime...Then POOF oh, wait I think we got ya on 2011! A month of resending W2s and re-filing follows, and Nope, I was right the first time again. I give up trying to handle this myself and need a hired gun to clear it up.
It makes sense to them to prevent a hardworking man from earning a living, which would actually put more cash in their pockets in the end, to get these nickels and dimes that I've already paid.
One hand has no clue what the other is doing in that office. It's tragic on an amazing level.

I recently had the same problem. The Louisiana DMV flagged my license due to "lapse in insurance" which turned out to be complete bullshite.
Contacted my insurance company who informed me that Louisiana has been doing that shite lately.
The state is obviously broke as frick now that the oil field has taken a dip, and we MUST continue to pay for all the "dindu-nuffins" you're pretty much fricked.
They're going to get their money one way or another.

Can this be explained in better detail to us?
I think most folks feel you've been cheating the system and they are skeptical of you, since most find it difficult to believe that law abiding citizens would have difficulty in obtaining a driver license.

No offense dude, but i dont care who believes what. The point is, they came after me for an issue with one year, took forever to finally admit I didn't owe on that year and tried to xfer it to another year. Again they were wrong...and all along, they insisted that I start making payments on money they couldn't show me, much less prove that i owed.it obviously pissed them off.
As of yesterday, after they admitted 2011 was correct, suddenly they claim I owe 2k out of thin air - 2 years not previously re-verified and including 2 years I no longer resided in the state.
These contacts at La Rev can only read what their screen says but can offer no explanation. I am to the point of just agreeing to a payment plan/ writing a check or whatever...all I ask is to know why I owe more.
So far the mistakes have been on their end, and if you find it hard to believe you would change your mind after trying to communicate with them, i promise you.
I love LSU, but the avg La State Employee is...obtuse.
All I ask is if anyone knows a tax atty willing to answer a few questions, this is the point of my thread.
