Yeah, it just flies off the shelf.

I imagine they sell to private corporations, but not some slap dick walking in off the streets.

I assume there is specific equipment needed to handle/purchase

Just go get your tires filled with it then drain and melt. Not that hard if you have a basic understanding of chemistry.

I'm not sure if they sell it to the public, but you can try some welding suppliers - most of them carry it for industrial purposes.

Check with Capitol Welders Supply or TNT Welding Supply.

We get ours from AirGas for our shop, but I believe anyone can get it, but the tank and diffuser novel are not cheap, plus it doesn’t last very long in the heat.

any gas welding supply should offer it. Airgas or TNT.
you need a container aka dewar. they come in different sizes. 5 liter all the way up to 100+. Like someone else said, they aren't cheap. $500 on the cheap end probably.

Our boy scout leader bought some in elementary school to freeze a banana then hammer a nail into plywood with it.

This is no help to you, but I felt like sharing.

Look around...you can find small dewars for sale pretty easily. Farmers use liquid nitrogen for insemination purposes.

Here's one on Amazon for less than $200.

Seems that Astroglide would be a better choice.

Praxair on Choctaw. No clue what the minimum volume they'll sell is though.
