I think it's a good pitch. Reminds me of the old Avis ads where they said they were No.2 to Hertz, but "we try harder."

It was one of the most successful ad campaigns in history.

Sprint's ad says they are 1 percent less reliable, but 50 percent cheaper. It works.

Also, a 1% difference in reliability is huge by reliability measures, it could mean 3.65 days per year of your cell phone not working. AT&T during the floods didn't even reach that low.

My favorite commercial is the one with Charles Barkley, Sam L Jackson and Spike Lee on the plane... Eating steak.. "Steaks on a plane"

A lot of people were talking about Chipotle when they had a serious health issue and their stocks plummeted. So the "Any publicity is good publicity" when it comes to business isn't a good thing.

I think food born illnesses for a restaurant are always bad.

There are exceptions to the rule, but companies would rather people talk about them, good or bad, than not say anything about them at all. If they are talking about your competitors, good or bad, but not saying anything about you.. then that makes you irrelevant.

What about Blue Bell? When they had to stop selling ice cream for awhile because their ice cream was contaminated, people started talking about how they couldn't wait for them to come back and when they slowly started selling again, they were selling out...

They went and got the old Verizon spokesperson and now are making commercials shot for shot remakes and sequels to Verizon commercials.

I also love how they basically say "Our service isnt as good as Verizon or ATT....but you should still come to us."

The most pathetic ad campaign is liberty mutual and it's not even close.

The bitch that gets on TV and whines about her car insurance not taking care of her because she bought a new car and smashed it into a tree.

Or maybe it's genius, they're being very upfront about trying to attract women.
