Truly good gumbo is special......Jambalaya is super overrated

ETA: the wife's gumbo and red beans are fricking magical. For real.

Yes.

Turkey.

There is a reason we only cook turkeys at home once or twice a year.

Ha, I just tried to feed my Australian Shepherd a piece of turkey luncheon meat. Usually the dog won't let any food hit the ground. Turkey hit the ground and he just looked at me like what the frick was that.

Not reading through this to see if it's been said already but,

people act like they're crafting something which will be talked about for eons after they have died.

This is true of the first people to make it is it not?

I mean,
We are indeed still talking about it even if the original creator is unknown.

It's a nice meal if you're poor and can't afford tasty things.

Seafood gumbo can get pretty expensive

Not sure why you got a down-vote because this is true. It is not based off the French bouillabaisse like what people think.

A dark gumbo with potato salad is a top ten meal.

What in the fricking frick!?!?

Isn't it against the law, or at least grounds to take a beating, to be an LSU fan and not love gumbo?

Seriously though, really good gumbo is damn near life changing. I've eaten some damn good gumbo a few times, and you end up chasing it, trying to make it that good yourself for years. At least that's been me.

Ramen noodles are overrated. People think they accomplish cooking by making this simplicity.

I have never met a single person that considered microwaving ramen as cooking

Apparently I'm an alpha level troll based on how mouton is melting down in an anchored thread.
