One of the best I ever had was at Commaders Palace. Oyster, duck and andouille gumbo. Holy crap it was good.

When I think of overrated foods, I think of stuff like cotton candy or a Slurpee. Like, your kids jawbone at you about it, but is it actually that good? Not at all. You might as well just take little packets of Domino sugar and eat them.
Gumbo is a food that can approach nutritional completeness in one little bowl. (This is especially true if you use okra.) If anything, it's underrated.

Nope. Shrimp and okra... fine. But if I’m dumping a bunch of crabmeat, Claws, shrimp, and oysters, I NEVER add okra, nor sausage.
And, I almost always put okra in a chicken and andouille gumbo.
