I don’t know a lot of gay guys, so pretty small sample size, but I do know two pretty well that I’ve specifically asked their opinion. Not awkward question to ask them as they have an easygoing basically “ask me anything” policy.
They’re not a fan of trannies and do NOT like being grouped with them.
That makes perfect sense to me that gays would largely feel that way. Again, small sample size but I believe it. I could see true lesbians feeling even more strongly about it because they don’t want anything to do with a penis no matter which gender is hanging one.

Also it is wrong to call them ladyboys even if that are from Thailand. One of my friends got sent to sensitivity training for using the term ladyboy when telling a story about another one of classmates who "accidentally" went into a ladyboy bar in Thailand. Of course one of those terminally offended people overheard him and reported him.
