Having both the 43 and 43X they are basically the same except that the 43X has a slightly longer grip. So it really just depends on how big of a hand she has.
That said, the comfort of the weapon in the hand of the shooter can affect shooting ability. I'd suggest taking her to a range and letting her shoot both and let her select. Don't dismiss the Hellcat as an option if you're going to let her try out a few.

If in a self defense situation the target is far enough away that you can draw out a pistol get in a proper stance, linie up the sights on the target and then fire your concern should be how good of a lawyer you have,not the accuracy of the weapon.

Sig P365 is another small grip pistol she should check out.
