Ft. Worth is sneaky fun. But you really have to be into the whole country thing.

so Mr./Mrs Business owner and nurse living in Loudoun County, Va are doing more damage to the country than the fine upstanding citizens of Louisiana?

I highly doubt it

Just because the location of the Federal Govt and other agencies are in DC doesn't mean the whole metro area is full of people hell bent on slapping the bible or 60 oz beetus juice out of your hand

Seems to be your own fault. It's a suburb, but there's plenty to do in the city and surrounding areas. Plus you're 20ish minutes north of downtown and a ton if areas in Dallas.

Because texas has a distinctly western fee to it, especially the further you get away from the golden triangle.

You start to see pine forest giving way to plains and prairies dominated by shrubs and grass. The land starts to get more dry and less green

The food starts to change significantly too: beef barbeque vs pork, Tex mex vs traditional southern

The people have very similar attitudes regarding individualism and self reliance but there is just a difference I can’t put my finger on

Per capita I believe it is. Yeah highland Park and preston hollow have sick houses, but there are also some really shitty dumps nearby.

Plano has some of the same huge lot mansions surrounded by $400-600k houses.

I'll accept that well thought out response.

I do agree that once you pass the Texas Triangle it becomes a totally different region. Texas is huge though, so that's to be expected.
