The Coast Guard is the smallest branch due to the requirement all members must be over 6ft tall

Yeah, the Coast Guard looks like they stay pretty busy so they get major props from me.

Not everybody in the USMC is a grunt.

Sitka.

That's not too far from where I lived. I went to school up there with a guy who's dad was a Coasty. I believe he was on lighthouse duty. He'd go out for two weeks then be home for a week if I remember correctly.

But what is the status of the Coast Guard's size in comparison to the other branches? And what may be a cause for it?

did anyone buy said lighthouse?

Dunno. It would make a great B&B though. If I had the resources I would have done it.

My sip pic is Sitka, the bridge connects the Coast Guard Air Station and the town. Those people do an amazing job when it comes to search and rescue. I respect the hell out of those folks and what they do.

Coast Guard Cutter Liberty is docked in front of my place, their HQ is next door to me.

Yes and no.

Its a branch of the Armed Forces.

Not a part of DoD. Its Dept of Homeland Security.
(Merchant Marines are part of DoT)

Quit dodging the question! What is the status of the Coast Guard's size in comparison to the other branches? And what may be a cause for it?

Yep, most are automated now. They are gorgeous though. I think they would make great lodges or B&B's.

Technically, sure.

Do you have to be under DoD to be considered "military"?

Coast guard members must be at least 6 ft tall. In case the boat down, crew must be able to walk to shore.

You a politician or something? Just answer the damn question, what is the status of the Coast Guard's size in comparison to the other branches? And what may be a cause for it?

That picture is the rescue swimmers. That's the only type job that ever gets shown for the coast guard.

The rest of the jobs are not that special
