Is the abundance of new boards a way to garner more clicks on Tigerdroppings?

The O-T used to be really active. Over the past year or so, activity has gradually dwindled. I’ve noticed myself moving around from board to board more frequently. This obviously results in a lot more clicking around the website in general.

Was that the motive behind fracturing the boards so much?

There's a thread from March 7 on the first page of the Book Board.

I just dont go to other boards so now i miss out on a lot of board specific topics that used to be OT lounge material. Its probably one of the reasons why I dont post as much. This website just isnt as good anymore.

Whatever, not my call

Kinda where I’m at recently, Dolla. We may have more activity overall but it’s so spread out that it isn’t the same as it used to be.

With the addition of the Home and Garden board I’ll miss the “why does my neighbor cut his grass on Saturday’s before 8:00am” threads

I agree it runs the risk of less activity and the topic not being talked about as much. The book board can probably be done away with and rolled back into the OT. I enjoy the music board though because there’s enough traffic there that it stays pretty active, plus the threads aren’t filled with tons of other reply’s not related to the topic so good discussion occurs. It’s trial and error I guess and the Home and Garden seems like a topic that will drive enough traffic to be a good standalone. I just hope there’s not many more added and even ideally some removed because it keeps everything more active when it’s centralized instead of compartmentalized.

dwindled? WTF are you talking about. OT is the most active board on the site. There has been no forum added in last five years that took any significant traffic from this forum.

To play devils advocate, if we had everything on the OT, you wouldn't be able view as many topics because they would be moving off the 1st page quickly.

I like the different boards. I don't want to read about someone fricking someone's mother when discussing a book or lawn care.
