That one and one with a wolf leering at you from the shadows.

We’re hard-wired for it. Way back from our caveman days. Think about that…but that’s why we love it. Also hunting

It's certainly one of life's simple pleasures.

Skip the beer and eat some mushrooms. The fire turns into God’s breathing messenger.

There is nothing better than a campfire in the fall. No matter what your life is like in the real world, all of your issues just seem to melt away for awhile.

Best is the next morning when just a little prodding brings the remnants of the fire back to life.

Yes, and to think that half the people on the board wouldn’t be able to start a fire and keep it going if their life depended on it.

At the ranch we call it cableTV. It’s great.

when it's cool we would have a large fire in a field at the hunting lease and listen to the game...
always a lot of wood around from the loggers working...
heaven...

Campfire while ice fishing and drinking beer is pretty hard to beat.

Better yet. Throw a can of beans in fire and see who gets the bean bath

Mix some shrooms with that experience, then you’ll be waking on charcoals and enjoy. Lol

I still want to learn how to make a fire with just wood. . I can make one with flint and steel so that's not bad but i want to be able to kick arse on naked and afraid if I'm every on it.

I love starting fires around my place. During the winter, I heat my house with a wood burning stove. I have several burning areas on my land and I have a smokeless fire pit. I can't wait until it cools down. I have 4 red oak trees split and ready to be turned into ashes.

I had to double check to make sure I hadn’t posted this. Lol.

I’m about to do a flue sweep on the wood stove. It’s my sole source of heat until I finish the basement. I have to do something separate down there for comfort. May do another wood stove!

I’m still cutting and splitting wood from Helene and a subsequent storm. Mostly red oak. Last two winters we had hickory. Big one downed on our property.

I set up a big fire circle down where three big trees fell for debris burns. Another firepit closer to house and a smokeless one on the back deck.

It has been in the 40s at night the past several days. Perfect firepit weather.

And if you camp in the cold like we used to every Thanksgiving, it becomes a very practical endeavor as well.
