ETA: Seriously, if this isn't a plot straight from a movie. Terrible virus with little to no symptoms. Brazil is a huge hot spot, and we are sending representatives from every country in the world to visit and then return home.
Zika isn't even remotely a serious virus outside of pregnancy.

While this is true, for those pregnant or trying to get pregnant or thinking about trying soon.....this whole Zika stuff is pretty scary.

From what I've read, once infected symptoms last a week(if you even have any) and you become immune to any future exposure. If that's the case and I were a woman looking to get pregnant, I'd just head to Central America and catch it well before attempting to get pregnant.

You do realize that pregnancy is required to sustain future generations. Sure it's not deadly to people immediately after being infected, but it has the ability to be spread extremely easily. Zika virus can affect pregnancies several months to a year after initial contact. Sexual transmission of the virus has also become a problem.
The CDC recommends that families coming into contact or visiting countries with higher probability of coming into contact should use condoms/birth control for up to a year before trying to get pregnant.

Yes the possibility is huge for a terror act to happen.

This may be true, but what percentage of children are being born with related birth defects currently in the areas where zika is common? If it isn't a very high percentage, I would say waiting a year is probably going way above and beyond what is necessary. My curiosity stems from if there are any lasting effects of the virus(future pregnancies). Thus far science says no and if that's the case then I see no real reason for fear.

If you think Grant park during south Chicago is going to be full of armed festival attendees, idk what to tell you.

Fair enough. I've never been to lollapalooza. I'd feel more secure if these people actually cared about living though.

My opinion is something bad could happen anywhere.

Yep. Lots of bad shite. At least 1000 street kids will be murdered by police.

On second thought, it's safer that way.
