Summary, it's cool but you pay for about 100 channels you'll never even explore.
No different than almost every other cable, streaming and pretty much every single other service in the world today, and for the last several years .. and most of them usually charge far more than $8 or $9 bucks per month .

How do you get if for $6 month
Call and threaten to cancel, they always find a promotional rate or a “loyal customer rate”. Keep declining till they, get down to the $6 range. I’ve done it with the chat feature without having to speak to a foreigner. Once, maybe during Covid, it was an offer on their website, didn’t even have to ask.
I think I pay $30/mo for four cars (Music Entertainment plan). Have to keep an eye on the renewal date as i failed to notice a bump to $20/mo for one car. And currently on chat changing that one. I need to put them on my calendar to keep, track.

From the chat feature:
“ I can set you up with 12 months of our Music & Entertainment plan for $6.99 per month!
And I have good news, this plan was recently updated to include EVERY channel Sirius XM offers, including live play by play for all major sports.
With access to the SiriusXM app you can listen both inside and outside of your vehicle.
Factoring in taxes, the total comes to $7.69 per month, for the next 12 months.
Let me set this up for you!”
Took maybe 5-10 minutes tops.

No. Satellite radio now feels like where AM/FM radio used to be (it's even worse now, of course)
Even if the quality is the same, the fact that you could take a roadtrip and not screw around trying to find a decent station every 30-40 minutes is a major upgrade.

You are the third or fourth person in this thread to mention a price like that, or $4 per month or whatever..
I think most of these folks are paying a lot more than that!

pay around 40 for 2 cars. Whats $6 ?
Call and ask to cancel because it's too expensive... I've gotten it even lower than $6 before.
They won't let you cancel....they'll just drop the price to damn near nothing

They send me offers for $4/mo per vehicle all the time. The normal rate is $5-6 dollars if you’re willing to bitch for a few minutes each year. Otherwise they happily charge you $15-20 per vehicle.

I’ve had the lifetime subscription since the late 90’s or so, I love it for the sports -about 20 channels - and stand up comedy channels- 8 channels. Music I use my smartphone.
I’d definitely recommend

In the last 5 months I have been to Cambodia, Costa Rica, 3 weeks hiking an camping in the NW and 5 weeks hiking and camping in the SW. It is a must if you travel, hike or camp.

Lifetime subscription back in 2007/2008 when I was on the road everyday driving 3+ hours and they were hurting for revenue. Seem to recall that it was less than $500.
I'm good with it, but it was better when Mojo Nixon was still around.

It’s a great deal if you’re the kind of person who can remember to call and threaten to cancel every couple months.
I have other things to worry about so I stick to podcasts.

15 or 20 minutes, exactly once per year… worth it to me since i get a lot of entertainment out of the product, but if your time is too valuable for that, then congrats Mr Musk .

The app and Nord VPN FTW, when out of the country,

I think you can just download the app on your phone to get a few months free and decide if you like it.
I get a few months free from time to time from Ticketmaster or various online orders. It's not essential to me, but probably depends how much time you spend on the road or in the country where cell service is dodgy.
