Yes it is real but not near as common as so many believe. Most of these idiots confuse racism with prejudice. There is a huge difference

Both Oxfords and Websters define racism and bigotry using prejudice as part of the definition. Prejudice is steeped in the survival DNA of most animals and man is no exception...we pre-judge people every day based on no more information than their appearance and life experience. Those prejudged ideas are not insignificant and they can not be removed from the human mind...they are real and they are necessary to function. They are commonly based on racial and ethnic characteristics, either real or believed to be real.

Racism refers to one's belief that their race is superior OR that the race of an individual is indicative of that person's ability or attributes. Again, very few human beings are free of this...almost universally humans are more comfortable around people who are similar to themselves, like most animals, and suspicious of people who are different, again, like most animals. Given that this is a universal human trait there is nothing inherently wrong or evil about it...it is part and parcel of our DNA, like most animals. Acting on these ideas to the detriment of others, on the other hand, is indeed wrong and, in some cases, evil. It not only damages the other person, it can prevent the individual acting thusly from having a meaningful experience with another person simply based on that person's race.

Racism is real and universal. Prejudice is real and universal. Pretending it is not, or is one groups problem and not another groups is damaging to individuals and society in general. It is human nature, but it should not be an end all when interacting with people who are different. Unfortunately too many people do indeed do this.

It's a real thing but it's not the giant boogeyman hiding in every shadow that the media and powers that be want you to think it is. In my opinion, things were pretty good race-wise in the 90's and early 00's until Obama became President. With a black man now as President, it looked like the nation had turned a corner on racism. The race pimps needed their cash flow and those in power still needed that division to help them divide and conquer, so they basically re-invented racism to meet their needs.

Real racism is not one-sided. People naturally congregate and feel more secure among those they look and act like they do, and there isn't anything wrong with that because it is instinct. In the real world, though, one has to be able to adapt to being around others not like you and be able to function in a civilized manner. Those who cannot adapt are the real racists, and they come in every color, shape, and size. In my experience though, those types of people have been few and far between.

It is real, but it is not natural. It is purposely contrived and perpetuated as part of the "divide and conquer" agenda that TPTB hold over us to keep us under their thumb.

Unfortunately, there are enough ignorant and easily herded sheep in this country to keep racism a real thing.

Racism is real; however it is IMO almost entirely low key, mutually shared amongst all races, and manifests as a more a prejudice or generalization than a superiority thought process. I think it’s more held as a thought toward “certain people” of a given race more than the race overall, fluctuating greatly based on experiences.

The sin is partiality…showing prejudicial favor for any reason…”racism” would fall into this category…

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes, and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,” have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?

Yes

But, it’s only seen at the level it’s projected because the media projects it.

Instead of projecting it, if they took the time to make things about loving each other and positive stuff, not much would even occur

There is a time held definition of racism, and that is you believe your race is superior.

Criticizing a black person isn't racism, unless you just criticize all black people as the same.

It's obviously real. I've known a few morons that legit believe they are of the superior race from HS (hopefully they matured), but the most racist shite I usually see on a weekly/monthly basis is the racism of low expectations. It's asinine to me that people truly believe blacks are less capable than whites. It's insulting to say things like "voter ID laws are racist because my minorities can't get IDs" or "minorities should get additional scores on college applications because they are minorities".

Its always existed, its simply tribalism.

Collectivism in any degree is an afront to individualism.

America is a melting pot, and that means many different cultures rolled into one.

Italian-American culture differs from
Irish-American culture, for example. All of these different cultures make America great and strong.

However, recently, urban youth culture, due to media influences, has been rapidly moving in a direction diametrically opposed to the rest of American civil society, as anyone with eyes can see. It glorifies selfishness, ignorance, senseless violence, and general idiocy.

I pray for the youth of our nation. Amen.

Urban youth culture is part of the overall culture of the United States. The negative aspects associated with "urban youth culture" does not take place in a vacuum and does not impact urban youths only...it impacts every one of us.

The first part of this statement is true as words can be...there is a group of people in this country who have to work every day and most do not get food stamps...that is about 90% of the adults in this nation and includes people from all races and ethnic groups.

The second part is as wrong as wrong can be...cops do care and will do something about killing or stealing from that group.

Everyone is racist by todays standards. It doesn’t mean you hate someone because of their color/race though. But everyone has something in them that can be considered racist. If you see new neighbors moving in next door and they are dressed like gang members, Muslims, or a pride parade leader you aren’t gonna choose them over someone who looks like you. And that’s ok.
