They look to see if the person has posted non-stop about Southern, and immediately don't give him as much money.
For what it's worth, pay is based on position in most places. Promotions tend to be based off a combination of quality of work, people you know, and if your boss wants to get you off his team.

Actually, pay is typically based on both position and quality of work. Generally, position dictates starting point and range of pay. Over the years, quality of work dictates annual raise amount and creates a good bit of difference between good and poor workers.....

For example, if two guys work as repair technicians but one of them is an excellent worker but the other is subpar, is their pay scaled the same.

Neither, it's based on your replacement value

I don't hire SU grads so their pay is 0

man or woman?
Does gender actually factor into whether your quality of work will be taken into consideration.

Stupid question. For the OP - go to job sites and read the position descriptions and you can figure this out for yourself. Stop being lazy.

If union it's the same.

Hillary Clinton told me that race and gender are the only factors taken into consideration when discussing pay.

There are too many variables that you need to answer this question. I'm union so we have a set pay scale, which I love!

neither, it's based on your personal relationships.

Initial pay is based on experience or what you can negotiate. After that it is about dominating and kicking arse. Most places I have worked recognize those who achieve and go the extra step.

Yes, because the subpar one is usually fired.
