Is my kid the only one that insults people?

Standing in a long line at the local hardware store to check out with my 3 year-old daughter and a really fat woman with wide pants on that she had to roll up multiple times walks by her. I have my back turned, so I don't see, but hear:
"You have really short legs."
I had her with me while I was donating blood and she wandered over to another bed and told a man he had a tiny head (he did).
I never know what to say in those moments.

Yeah, my parents told me if I ever acted like that , they would have put me up for adoption. Very much ingrained “be polite and don’t bother people”

First of all, your kid is a human, so refer to her as “who” not “that”, as though she was a sofa. And no, others insult folks.

My daughter is 11 and she low key slings insults, often above the heads of the recipients, adults included. I correct her quietly but laugh on the inside. She’s usually dead on.

People who pick apart a person's flaws preemptively out loud like that are doing that because of their own inadequacies. They figure if they beat you the punch, then you won't have time to focus and notice something about them. I know quite a few guys who are like that. And believe me, once you get past the shock value of that ("did he just fricking say that to me") you understand what exactly it is that they are hiding. In a nutshell, it's social ignorance.
With your little girl, chances are you and/or your wife are guilty of that and she's just imitating what you do.

kids 3 are innocent.
but at home you can explain to keep comments quiet about how people look.
my favorite like that was at a chinese restaurant.
my daughter is maybe 5
she's a lifetime vegetarian. we sit right next to other.
people at the next table are served a whole lobster.
its huge. those feeler things stick out more than a foot. lots.
she yells excitedly so you could hear it in the parking lot, they are not going to eat THAT are they?
but at home you can explain to keep comments quiet about how people look.
