Owned by the same company is different than made by. That’s like saying Johnnie walker is made by crown royal because Diageo owns both.

The old bottles used to say Cuervo on them. I've always assumed that 1800 was Cuervo's ultra premium.

Fun fact: ethanol/water solutions can’t be distilled past about 95% ABV without adding some pretty nasty chemicals to break the azeotrope. Hence the reason all of the straight grain alcohols are 190 proof and 99.9% reagent grade ethanol is toxic as hell.
So no, you really don’t want to drink 200 proof anything.

I came back from Mexico with a bottle of Siete Leguas and a bottle of Cazadores extra anejo clear. The Cazadores EA is my favorite. Also brought home some Don Julio 1972 which is good but not as good as the 1940. That 1940 is one of the pinnacles of the tequila game to me. Milagro Anejo and Repasado Reserve barrels are the other two that are on par with the 1940 IMO.

Jose Cuervo Gold is 40% rum, not Vodka... one of the ingredients is sugar... Vodka is made from grain or potatoes
