I mean... what else are you supposed to do with them? They are the perfect size for bathroom trash bags.
Yep, plus you're getting a second use out of something you could just throw away.
We use them for bathroom trash and for scooping cat litter. The boxes get cleaned at minimum 2x a day, so we go through them quickly.

Would be ideal to use reusable bags when going to grocery. H-E-B in Texas does a great job of this.

Is it trashy to use grocery bags as trash bags?

I actually love using the big tote bags because you can just swing them over your shoulder and don't need multiple trips to the car. But I constantly forget them.

I did when I lived in New Orleans. It would take a month to fill up a kitchen bag so I'd reuse grocery bags and drop them in the public trash cans.

That’s a waste. I use them to cover my shoes on rainy days. I’m not about to ruin my New Balances.

How? I easily empty ours 5-6 times per week.

Are we talking the plastic grocery bags? Cause I’ve put 2 dead cats and a small dead dog in Walmart bags to dispose of them (over the years).

Why would anyone need a trash bag hanging off the lever of your recliner?
Recliners are trashy enough without a grocery bag

I use brown paper grocery bags as a liner. Its just me and I don’t cook so it doesn’t fill fast.
My grandparents, children of the depression, were very successful adults but always used grocery bags as trash can liners. They’d change it out 2-3x a day. But they couldn’t imagine spending money on something “they didn’t need”. I guess that kind of stuck with me.

Not as trashy as using them for luggage

I bring my lunch to work in them. We have refrigerators so there's not reason to bring a cooler.

Like what the other poster said
Whether you care about the environment or not, grocery bags are fricking terrible for our planet.
So any way you can repurpose them to get some extra use out of them gets a thumbs up from me.

I use them for bathroom garbage bags and for food scraps from cooking that I put back in the fridge or freezer as I don’t put food scraps in my garbage bin until garbage day cuz it stinks up my garage

In New Orleans as a single guy, you never fix meals at home... you just eat-out constantly (pun intended).

As long as you fold them before use.
