Get rid of the cradle to grave social safety net that takes money from the productive and subsidizes these usess eaters and force people to live with the true consequences of their choices.

Every year more and more of the better behaved and more interested students move to private schools. Teachers are also following this trend. No one wants to deal with the local rejects anymore or expose their children to them.

I’m not arguing that you should have the option to be at a trade or alternate school.
I’m stating flat out that if you are failing and distracting students via violence or disruptive behavior consistently you should be expelled and sent to an alternate school.
Your right to an education ends when it’s preventing others from having the ability to do so.

Yes. HS should be optional, we spend too much money on kids who do not value education.

The average american reads at a 7th to 8th grade level, you aren't going to improve with more education
A certain subset of people in this country do not value education, you cannot force them to learn.

That would be interesting. Heard them out of the K-12 system when you know they aren't getting it while providing an avenue to gain life skills and a vocation.
You'll have to fight the stigma of not having even a highschool diploma though.

We moved our kids at the start of 9th grade. Best decision we've ever made. The local public school is full of animals and many of the parents are worse.

What about the other kids who show up to learn everyday and gets their day interrupted by this kid who doesn't want to be there? When do people think about these kids?

Keep in mind one of the "founders" of the public education movement here in America said the following:
Horace Mann, the designer of the nation's first compulsory schooling law in Massachusetts in 1852, saw taxpayer-funded, universal compulsory schooling as a way to mold children into moral, democratic citizens. He famously said: “Men are cast-iron, but children are wax.”
Public education has NEVER been about educating kids.
Larry Sharpe who ran for NY Governor as a Libertarian has one of the more practical solutions on how to fix education in this country.

If this fails, both the parent and the kid have to partake in service hours over the summer. The kid 40 hours a week, the parent 16 hours a week unless unemployed. If unemployed 40 hours at the same time and place as the kid.
Failure to comply will result in criminal charges and detention in work programs overseen by police.
You have to punish parents for not raising their kids but rather wanting schools and the government to do it.
These aren’t the government’s kids, these are not the school’s kids. These are the parent’s kids.

I hear you. But if these kids weren't in school. Where would they go. Their parent(s) are at work. The teens will be home alone with endless free time. There is a guarantee they will get into trouble.
I know as it right now, many of these teens are already getting into trouble. But without mandatory schooling, I would wager you can double or even triple that number.
I hate it, but many high schools are nothing but a glorified day care. The system is broken, I admit. But what is the solution, however?

That accusation doesn't mean much to me as long as the same standards for behavior, performance and attitude are being applied to all children, regardless of color, race, sex or otherwise.
I think it might take suing people for liable to make the race baiters stop wielding that word like a weapon to win arguments.
