Is it possible that people share your dreams while sleeping?

If someone appears in your dream and you interact with them, could that person also be having the same dream at the same instant? This would primarily be someone you know or knew at one time.

It's always weird when you have a dream with someone you haven't talked to in years and then the next day they contact you. This has happened to me numerous times

My husband and i had a really odd experience of sharing the same dream.
We were at his family's house with the relatives talking and somehow we came upon the topic of remodeling and I mentioned that I had dreamed our ceiling fell in and that I liked the exposed beams of the roof but that my husband did not and so we disagreed in the dream.
Without missing a beat my husband said he had the same dream the night before too, and he wanted the ceiling replaced like it was before. We had the exact same dream and details.
It was just so weird. We had no roof problems nor were we thinking of remodeling, no reason for us to dream of a roof or to disagree on it.
