One of the biggest concerns with polar bears that I've heard from Keeper Talks at the Columbus Zoo is that their litters are getting smaller in size - they used to be 2-3 cubs and now they're routinely 1, maybe 2. Polar Bears are pretty hard to successfully breed in captivity but the Columbus Zoo had one cub born right before Thanksgiving

The population isn’t shrinking and there have been some increases in the wild. It isn’t booming but it is slowly increasing.
