Assuming what he meant is dangerous. And no, even small amounts for an elderly petite dog could absolutely frick up their kidneys.

One of my dogs got a piece of smoked venison sausage I dropped while chopping. The massive pile of runny shite I stepped in the next morning supports the Vet’s opinions. Not the best way to start the day.

Vets think they should eat the expensive food that they sell at the office. Wild dogs in Africa refuse to eat pigs

I did not know onions were bad for dogs. Learn something new everyday on the OT.

Oh yeah.

Years ago driving to our RV at the beach, I gave one of our corgis two fried onion rings. My wife was following in her SUV so she didn’t know this. Within about two hours he was lethargic and could barely stand up. We took him to an emergency vet because we thought he may have eaten some rat poison I had put under a storage shed. When I put him on the counter of the vet, he pissed all over it.

So we tell the vet about the rat poison and he says it isn’t that, because it takes a couple days for rat poison to show effects. So he asks us if he had eaten anything unusual that day. I mentioned that I had given him two fried onion rings and the vet and my wife looked at me like I was retarded.

So he treated him for it and gave us some meds and food for him. On the drive back to the beach, he was sleeping on my lap and pissed all over me.

So not only does it make them sick as a dog, they completely lose control of their bladder.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOG ONIONS!

Those onion rings costs me like $300.

....I'm trying to decide if you're serious or not.

This 9 year old dog laying at my feet has eaten hundreds of lbs of bacon and sausage in his time.

He gets a strip or link every time I cook. And he gets 4 pieces every sunday morning when we go pick up bacon, gatorade, and monster at the truck stop.

Oh... You suck at determining causation amongst variables.

Got it.

Younger dogs can handle high fat diets. Puppy food tends to be higher in fat for the calories. The older a dog gets the harder it is on their kidneys.

It’s no different than us. You could eat like shite in your 20s and it didn’t matter. Eat like that in your 50s and see what happens.

You can pry my dog's whiskey and Copenhagen from her cold, dead paws.

Dogs are omnivores. Minus the things that are actually poisonous to them... They can eat pretty much anything with no ill effects after they are accustomed to it.

Finally, after being on this forum for almost seven years, you make a post that I chuckled at.

Good job Gaucho.

sago palms.
Absolutely deadly to dogs.

I had a vet that paid $100,000 to clone his dog. Had two cloned pups from it actually. One of them when they were about two years old ate I think a couple nuts from a sago palm. Went into liver failure. Took him to LSU Vet center and there was nothing they could do for him. And I assume he would have spent whatever was necessary to save him but nothing they could do.

So far tonight he's had:

Half a whiskey drink someone set down
A grilled chicken thigh or two
A few pork ribs
Popper
cheesecake bites inside begging the women folk
An ear of corn (he may have eaten the cob, that's on him)
And some baby formula over some grain free dog food

Currently sleeping feet and balls up

Removing actually poisonous things like xylitol, walnuts and grapes. It's exactly how it works.

Are you the guy who argued on the outdoor board that dogs couldn't eat capsaicin?

Yep, the frickers can drink water out of a ditch and be fine. We’d be sick like a mofo. They’re damn near immune to snake venom also.

But fricking onions can kill them.

Don't point out that the more they got bit the less they give a shite.

This guy will lose his mind

Last rattle snake my LGD killed, he chewed the head off and ate it after it bit him in the face a few times

Puked it up a few hours later and seemed happy about his choice.

I read that as you work in a city vet's office as a receptionist and shite sweeper.
