Is it just me or are car lights brighter these days?

It feels like the brights are on when they are the basic lights. I used to be able to drive for hours at night with no issue. Within the last couple of years, I get terrible headaches if driving over 30 minutes with the constant lights in your face.

Said the same here before. It's really bad. Especially on rural highways or roads. Blinding. Or neighborhoods as well... If cars are parked on the street you have to really pay attention not to sideswipe them due to the glare from an oncoming car.

Lifted trucks are really bad or so it seems to me.

They are brighter. And the assholes that level their truck but don’t get the headlights adjusted need an arse whippin.

This is the biggest culprit. Driving width these blasting you in the face on a 2 lane road is a death wish.

Truth. I also notice the same difference with flashlights- blindingly bright. Flashlights are much stronger now. I fuss at the kids when they shining them at each other’s faces. Can’t be good for the eyeballs.

I read that these lights can irreversiblely damage our eyes. I keep my phone dimmed because I am concerned about eye damage. Maybe I’m crazy. Look it up.

My 2013 Tacoma, stock everything, apparently has very bright lights. I used to routinely get flashed until people started to realize the difference between brights and the newer types of bulbs.

Those bright LEDs are tough at night. Not to mention the After market lite kits

Yes. Halogen.

Get those orange night driving glasses. They actually help.

Halogen lights are the devils work.

The older I got the more I noticed this also...found out I had cataracts. Surgery helped a good bit but yea, some of those headlights are a bitch!

Why did cars switch to these new lights? It doesn't help that I drove a truck before and now have a car low to the ground.

I find that the biggest culprit's are the new Ford trucks. Especially the 250's & 350's

At least they have lights on, I am seeing more and more drivers with no lights on at dusk, coupled with a dark colored vehicle makes it near impossible to see.
