Is standard operating procedure to test fly secret aircraft in the same location of carrier battle groups repeatedly for 20 years without informing pilots training and scaring the shite out of them? That just seems really irresponsible.
Oddly, in a lot of ways, yes.

We have the best (known) military tech, and the best trained soldiers. We know what OUR rules of engagement will be, and how far you can push things before somebody starts shooting.

What better way to test both our deployed stuff, as well as the stuff we might be working on, than to buzz around our own stuff?
If you watch some of those cockpit videos, at least one guy gets a lock on. If it's secret prototypes, that means there's still work to do. It also means our current stuff is still capable.

And regarding getting a lock on; I don't think we could do that if this were extraterrestrial (interstellar) tech. I don't think a WW1 biplane could threaten an F-18, why would we expect an F-18 to threaten something WAY more advanced?

They aren't referencing some crackpot. It's a former US Senator.

That's not how we do it. We do this in places where no one else can see new aircraft we're developing, a "recent" lesson learned about the F-117. The F-117 was never going to become public but when 1 of the test aircraft crashed on an Indian reservation that plan went into the shitter.

The F-117 was developed 39 years ago, no telling what the latest technology looks like.

Surprised they aren’t already publishing it as 100% fact this morning.

They were able to track it but I dont think that is the same thing as having a weapons lock. Here is something else that doesnt make sense to me. Why would the AirForce be developing things like the X37B space plane if we have a propulsion system that has capabilities like these tic tacs and the "Gimbal" video crafts . These arent just demonstrating hypersonic speed. Also the pilot in the video says there is a whole fleet of them. So they were not only testing the performance of one super secret craft but had a fleet of them just hovering at 60000 feet?

They were able to track it because they were allowed to track it. No way they're getting a weapons lock on it.

To fully protect the secret tech, we’d have to continue developing “regular” tech at a believable rate. And there’s probably a good bit of the left-hand not knowing what the right-hand is doing.

Can't wait to see how the aliens are going to take woke culture. Hopefully they just vaporize everyone and wipe the slate clean.

This makes more sense than aliens at this point. The odds of traveling thousands of light years is likely more difficult than perfecting time travel.

Really?? In one scenario (travel in light years) you'd need to bend time for it to work or somehow go from A to B really really fast. This is only one thing we dont know if can be done.

In the other scenario you'd have ALL functions and moments of life and time occurring concurrently an infinite number of times then on top of that be able to bend time. This is literally an infinite number of things we dont know if can be done.

There are also Vietnam era pilots now coming forward to report the same phenomenon in the combat theater. So we would be working on the same tech for 40 years? The mental gymnastics to to make a believable scenario that this is our tech that we've been experimenting with for the past 40-50 years is actually less plausible to me than this is not our own.

If that's how they were traveling, then they'd be time travelers, and the world they returned to would be completely different than when they left it.

Will Antifa and #BLM proclaim that the little green men are racist? Never heard of any black women or dudes being abducted by UFO's for testing.
