Long term, Texas will laugh last.

You are reading too many headlines.

And you have experienced this firsthand in Texas? Where?

I've never understood why southerners have such a fixation on all things California. I know most here have never been there but Californians dont give two shits about the south or the people that live here.

This is more about Texas vs California. Not the south. You can’t compare the south and California but you can compare California and Texas.
Actually, the two states aren’t as different as people think. Both have strong Hispanic influences. Both have large populations. Both have major economic impacts. Both have strong cultural identities and both are strongly represented in American pop culture such as films and music.

OP makes no sense. Cali has rolling blackouts and the most criminally negligent utility in the US.

You can say Californians dont care but the issue is the Californians who leave and bring their increased cost of living and politics with them.

PG&E in Cali sucks so hard. Worse than anyone out there

We don’t care as in we couldn’t point out many states on a map accept the west coast, Hawaii, Alaska, Texas, New York, Florida and probably Colorado. At least that’s what I remember growing up as a kid. Hahaha

Bigger issue would be you seem to be proud you can identify less states on a map of the USA than school kids in Europe or Asia can. You think that’s something to boast about?

It means we didn’t care to. We didn’t feel the need since it wasn’t important enough. Not about intellectual capacity, but rather intellectual apathy.

As someone who briefly was part of the following demographic, most people in California's populous cities re not from CA, they are from everywhere else. Most leaving are those same people, sans retirees. When you meet lifelong Californians, they are typically not the crazy liberals. Those are largely imports.
Look at Austin and now Nashville. It ain't the natives.
