perfect and late
I am a perfectionist with time management issues and it has worked out well. I just can’t work for anyone but myself.

You better be early if you’re meeting me. 1 minute late, and I move on. There isn’t anything that chaps my hide more than the always 15 minutes late person.

Every self-proclaimed perfectionist has time management issues. That's why they call themselves a perfectionist. It's a built-in excuse for always being late, with the added bonus of a subtle brag on the quality of their work (which is never perfect, btw).

A client has a market window and can earn $250000 per month if he hits that window.
You produce your work 1 month late and proudly proclaim that you perfected the design and saved him $50000.
The client will not appreciate your perfection.

context?
If late means death/injury then obviously on time is preferable.
If 'on time' is an arbitrary point then late is probably best.

Depends on what you're talking about. Sometimes it's OK, but there isn't anything perfect about being late. If you're late for a non-refundable flight, you're out some money.

Well, no one’s perfect. Imperfections eat at me, though.
The good news is, I’m never stealing from anyone if I’m late. There is no buffer and no one to cover my arse, so I have to sink or swim. If my clients aren’t happy, I don’t eat.
Can’t always be late though, you gotta change it up and be early sometimes.
The answer to the question lies within how much of what is being done is artistry. If you’re punching buttons or pushing papers around, your arse better be early.
I’ll wait a couple hours to hear Chris Stapleton sing or for MichelAngelo to finish the Sistine Chapel.
For whatever reason, people with artistic brains struggle with time management

Always early - people that are ALWAYS late are inconsiderate fuks

10-15 minutes early. Never late.
