Personally, no, but millions of people are changing their lifestyles. Wait until you see what it does to your retirement. Inflation is the hidden tax on all future money.

If this was happening under trump democrats would be losing their mind. I can’t imagine defending this current administration.

Yeah, it really is. I am still living the good life, but just like for you, my dollars don't go as far as they did a year ago.

That isn't exactly a problem for anyone who had a surplus of dollars, but you're surplus is less than it was. Whether it's negligible for someone doesn't mean it isn't there.

I have changed a bit but I am already frugal by nature.

I have been putting more beans into my ground beef/turkey. It makes it go a bit further and is a cheap way to get the same protein in. To go along with that I'm eating more ground meats than I was before as they are a bit cheaper.

My biggest issue is house prices to buy and rent have gone up a ton. I make plenty of cash so it's not like I won't find a place to live, but I'm trying to finish paying off loans and save enough to buy a house in a few years

I could keep doing what I’ve always done but I’m being extra cautious. Getting rid of stuff too.

If you’re ok with astronomical price increases on gas, food, AC/heat for your home, or wanna act like it’s no big deal, then you’re a fricking retard. Regardless of where you stand financially.

Plenty of people who were making bank on Wall Street in 2007 were hoping to land a job selling insurance a year later. Unless you have frick you money the state of the macro economy matters to everyone whether OP is aware of this or not.

Are you under the impression that inflation is something you can just look away from and it won’t bother you? All of our purchasing power just declined more in the past year than any other in most of our lifetimes. You don’t get it back. Prices tend not to decline and wages are the last correction in the equation.

Being a Republican or Democrat shouldnt come into the equation. You are staring at an economical fact. The people that will get hurt the most are the ones with a little savings. The ones with no savings will just stay on the rest of our backs.

Oh and Neither the Rs or Ds in Washington know how to fix it. Luckily they got cheerleaders like you. Why anyone would try to stick up for them while making such shitty decisions that got us to this point is beyond me.

It has an impact on the broader economy.

You are an idiot if you think you aren't impacted because you can afford to pay more at the pump and the grocery.

I work a good bit in bankruptcy consulting so in a weird way a recession is good for my business. I never "root" for a downturn as that is awful karma, but in the end it could be beneficial to my job stability and potential for earnings personally

Right. I can’t believe I am even participating in a thread that someone is trying to argue much higher than average inflation isn’t hurting people financially

It’s like saying you aren’t getting wet in a downpour
