Not IMO.....Luxottica Group SpA is and IMO it's not close.

Look them up and see what they own; they've cornered the sunglasses, prescription glasses, eye exam market.

Hate to be an advocate for IKEA, but using the TaskRabbit service is the shizzz. Recently had to outfit a new place for my mom and the TR guy assembled:

A new bed with pull out drawer
A new chest of drawers
A new dining room table + 6 chairs
A new sectional couch w/bed
2 end tables
1 vanity

All for $235 bucks and within a day. I was very impressed.

You'll have to go to an affluent state such as Texas, GA, or TN for the IKEA experience.

Good stuff if you live in a dorm room or apartment.

Maybe an apartment but Ikea stuff doesn't move too well. When you try moving it its super fragile and the connections fail.

About the only good thing about it is it looks decent from a distance and is cheap. You'd be lucky to get one move out of it.

I've never been to an Ikea. Not even sure if there is one in Alabama.

I furnished my first apartment with IKEA furniture. And that shite lasted. I put wood glue in all of the dowel holes and screw holes, and it held up well for the 3 years I used it.

When I moved I was able to sell it all on Facebook marketplace for about the same as I paid because it's so cheap to start from and the person buying didn't have to assemble it.

Also their stores are a maze and you can’t get out until you go through the whole store seeing all the merch.

They actually have good, non-particle board stuff. You just have to look for it.

Exactly. Pricing isn't that much more aggressive than comparable, but does have more design.

I have a mental block about paying top shelf pricing at IKEA, but have done it twice.

Market yourself as Swedish even though the majority of your products are made in China.

It's a Swedish company and a lot of the stuff is Scandinavian design style; it's not a marketing tactic. Tesla is pretty much the only company that is 100% American made, does that make American cars produced outside the US not American?

If people would learn how to build shite on their own, they could make a better quality product than what you get at Ikea, for cheaper.

I've got two Billy bookcases that have moved from from one side of Georgia to the other, then to Kuwait, then back to Georgia, then to Germany, then to another city in Germany, then to Texas, then to South Carolina.

Still rock solid with no damage.

Have to give them credit for the manner in which they can pack shite into a box in the least amount of space.

Wife and daughter love that damn store. I wouldn’t mind it so bad but we may go once a year when we visit Austin and my wife fails to understand the concept of only a limited amount of stuff will fit in the back of an SUV

It’s weird, I’ve been to the one in Atlanta a bunch but never the one here in Jax.

And the store is set up to require you to walkthrough and see everything before you get to the exit. It’s truly a genius business model

Well that's nothing new. Supermarkets have been doing this for years by placing milk and eggs at the back of the store.
