While we’re discussing them, Who was the poli sci teacher that looked like Dave letterman and always did top 10 lists? Late 90s. I can’t remember names but his class was pretty good.

Roider

Paskoff (I remember a lot of people thought he was unfair, but I liked Paul)

Speaking of poli-sci profs, what ever became of Kevin Mulcahy? I took a couple of his classes circa 1990. He was pretty entertaining and gayer than a 3 dollar bill on Sunday (not that there is anything wrong with that).
He was a damn good professor. Took his class in the basement of Lockett in one of the small theatre type rooms. The setting encouraged participation and he was great at getting everyone involved.

Quite possibly the gayest man I have ever met.

I was a fan of Mokeba but I also liked Wayne Parent and Dr. Christopher as as far as Poli Sci classes go.

Parent was my favorite. Great guy to shoot the shite with too.

IIRC he got arrested for something involving a student or graduate assistant. The reveille articles show up in google search but when I clicked through its a 404 error

He said quite frankly, one day before class had completely assembled for the lecture, that students from his home of Cameroon "would not be wasting the opportunity to interact with others in the pursuit of knowledge and academic excellence."
Mokeba is a legend.
It's been 20 years and I still remember a buddy of mine sitting in one day. He tried to take notes.
Mokeba lectured as a flow of consciousness. I took notes essentially drawing a solar system. A central idea... And every single other item stemming from it and interacting with each other.
Watching him and eubanks have lunch together and realizing I would never be as intelligent as either was a very sobering moment for a kid who thought he was hot shite.

Eubanks is the one who dabbled with the CIA, right?

The answer will be personalized for everybody but he was my favorite professor and the best LSU had to offer in my opinion.

Wow! That's definitely a name I hadn't heard in years! He was entertaining and provoking... and definitely flamboyant on occasion. Sorry to hear that he passed.

I still remember the first class he taught. He introduced himself as Harry Mbella Mokeba. He said we could call him either Harry or Dr. Mokeba as we liked, but he really liked being called Mbella since that was the name he went by, but he thought Mbella would be too hard for us to pronounce since English speakers always wanted to pronounce every letter in a word. He pronounced it clearly for us "Bella. The M is nearly silent. Imperceptible. It is not MMMMmmmmBella."
I think I address him as Mbella maybe twice in the time I was a student. Both times before class had commenced, and both times he smiled when he looked up to answer whatever question I was going to ask. Every other time, though, it was "Dr. Mokeba" when I would address him. He was certainly deserving of that respect.

Carter Hill for the win.

Always a class act, and liked to open up the mind and chellenge the views of many students of right wing beliefs.
A good professor would challenge everyone's beliefs, especially his own.

It was all beliefs in general. But alot of individuals on the rant and in this state do not like when right wing beliefs are challenged in general. As evidenced by the downvotes on an otherwise harmless post.
You got downvoted for the suggestion that LSU is some right wing echo chamber. Every professor I had that made their political views known was easily left of center.

I am sure the track team is still setting the curve in his classes and never making anything below a 95.
With that said his classes were always interesting and he let us out early for night classes.

I had him multiple times. Minor was poli Sci and I made sure to take as many of his classes as I could. Is he still around?
He was so direct (very African) and funny. I'm surprised some liberal white girl hasn't tried to get him fired yet.

Richard Rice, Chem Engr professor, was GOAT. Used to teach in his socks, smoke cigarettes, tell dirty jokes, and insult his younger colleagues. But he could throw down some heat transfer.

Absolutely! He was amazing. Had him for a Tu-Th Louisiana Government class in Lockett when Buddy Roemer was elected governor and EWE was out.
Every other Thursday, former Gov. Edwards would be there and take over part of the lecture time. I got in line after class to talk briefly with Gov. Edwards and thought the person in front of me looked familiar, but I couldn't place her. Turns out she was a reporter for one of the local news stations in Baton Rouge. Gov. Edwards told her that he was staying to speak to STUDENTS and if she wanted to speak to him she could meet him and they could chat in his car. She said she didn't f*** politicians. He smiled and responded, "I only want a blow job."
The look on her face was priceless! I was no fan of EWE or any of his policies, but he was most certainly an entertaining individual.
And of course, Dr. Parent was an amazing professor.
