I think it's a dick move to make people work on holidays that are non-emergency jobs so I stay home so they can.

Me, the wife, BIL and his fiancée went to see Rogue One this evening.

Pretty sure we saw TFA last year on Christmas as well.

This is a tradition for us on Thanksgiving night, as well as Christmas night.

Just got back from seeing Collateral Beauty. Powerful movie if you have kids. Features Will Smith, Kate Winslet, and......wait for it.......Helen Mirren

Not such a good idea....

I don't understand going to the movies on Christmas in the same way that I don't get camping out on Thanksgiving for cheap deals. There's just no way I'm missing out on a great meal, or spending time with family to go and do something I could otherwise do 350 or so other days of the year. It just doesn't make sense to me.

But to each their own.

I went last night to a 10pm showing. I was surprised with the amount of people there.

I dated a girl years ago who worked in the ticket booth at a movie theatre in another state. She said that Christmas Day was crazy busy with people coming to watch the movies. I gather that there were families who viewed Christmas Day as movie day and who saw going to the movies as part of their Christmas celebration.
