Seems there are numerous solicitations from everywhere. The guys at the gas station are much more honest.

My family back home is making cookies to donate to a local men's shelter that is looking for baked goods. So not trashy, IMO. I would have done something if I knew of this day, but honestly had never heard of it until a few hours ago.

Of course, giving to charity and many companies matching any givings by their employees is one of the trashiest things you can do.

Never seen so many people worried about what is trashy. Who gives a shite. If you like something, great. If not, move along.

Well, gentlemen. It seems we've finally reached that point.

The point where we've begun asking ourselves whether philanthropic giving - an act which may very well symbolize the pinnacle of advanced Western civilization - is "trashy."

Virtue signalling is always trashy

Whatever happened to just doing good things without having to get attention for it? Doesn't that kinda defeat the whole purpose of doing good things?

I think the idea is to use the power of social media to encourage more people to do likewise

But I don't necessarily disagree with you

That is actually a very reasonable justification.

This is the OT, where the trashiest motherfrickers on earth congregate to call things trashy.

Only an atheist who donates anonymously and immediately commits suicide is truly altruistic.
