i'm sure you could find people who would complain if it was $20 or $25, but it would be a hell of a lot less.

There’s always going to be complaining at the lower wage rates. I think what most of them want is a wage that affords them to carve out a life where they can meet their financial obligations, while putting some money away. There was a time when these lower wages could do that, including buying a home and sending kids to college. I don’t really like the term “living wage” but that is what the vast majority of them want. The problem is that wage is wildly different from area to area. A man could live very comfortably at $22 per hour in Bumfrick, Alabama, but not in Los Angeles.

But my opinion is there also needs to be a correction in executive compensation. It can be pretty demoralizing for a lower wage employee to see his/her paltry annual raises, while another executive that performed poorly is given a golden parachute just to leave.

It's because the Progressives have convinced them that their "value" is more than what it's is.

Are you of the position that all full time jobs should pay a "living wage"? Whatever that is.

It depends on how many subscribers they have and the type of content they provide.

Something like 95% don't make $1k a month. Its not much security, if you want to make a living off of it.

That is a low-ish wage for a major Healthcare company in a major city.

Health care is misleading when it comes to pay. If you aren't an executive/doctor/nurse, the pay is usually shite to start out.

I'm of the position that a job should pay enough to keep it filled.

It can be if you know what you are doing. One named Chrisfix has nine million subscribers just doing videos of detailing vehicles. Some of his videos have 20 million views.

You're missing the most important part, and that is if he doesn't have the money to fill a critical role, then his business model needs adjusting.

Instead of accepting this obvious reality, you continue to be emotional about small businesses being attacked. And then you project that emotion onto me, as usual.

It’s popular because it’s mindless entertainment that doesn’t require much focus. It isn’t framing the minds of young adults and their opinions on life’s expectations.

If watching reruns of Friends and Sex & the City is enough to influence a persons entire outlook on life and the workforce then they didn’t have a chance to begin with, regardless of either sitcom existing.

how much do you expect people making 30k a year paying $1400 a month in rent and $4.50 on gas to put in their 401k each month?

You offered 15 dollars an hour for manual work in a major city and are surprised people turned you down? This is literally starting pay at McDonalds these days. The only retard would be anyone who would accept this

You pay more money, you get better work. You pay less, you get less. This is the market setting labor rates. That's capitalism. Companies that can't afford quality labor need to modify their business model. Adapt or die.

How many people are capable of doing a successful heart transplant? How many are capable of cooking fries until done?

Menial labor pay menial wages. Always has, always will. The problem is, government has stepped in and made it where the menial labor person doesn't have to work. Businesses are forced to pay more to everyone due to rising costs and the competitive job market. Therefore prices for goods and service rise, causing those increased wages to be moot.

How did we have record employment just 3 years ago, and now there is a massive labor shortage and record inflation?

Because businesses are shutting down, or limiting production because it's impossible to raise wages and prices enough to make a profit.

The economic term is shock. Wage shock leads to price shocks and it hurts everyone. Soon that $25 wage isn't worth what it was when you took the job.

Everybody likes the market until it decides you need to pay people more. Then everyone's a greedy no-good zoomer and something needs to change. Funny how that works.
