before actually addressing the problem?

Apparently putting cones around an area sloughing off of an embankment doesn't actually help with soil stabilization or restoring structural integrity.

Ask Julie Tweeter to come check it out.

Edit: Never mind she wouldn't come and say she did.

That can't be right. The O-T tells me only NOLA has those kinds of crappy engineers. Not the glorious city of Red Stick.

clearly you dont understand how this works, after the bridge collapses they get it condemned and then federal emergency funds are used to build a new bridge and BR spends nothing

The entire state is fricked. NOLA just takes corruption and incompetence to a whole different level

Louisiana will just put up a sign that says “Bridge may fail at any time” and call it a day.

This is what I have suggested for the MS river bridge. Need to manufacture a catastrophic failure then feds immediately pay full price for new bridge which gets fast tracked. Similar to I10 Twin Spans after Katrina.

You forgot a line.

"Cross at your own risk."

Have to do something to keep the legal sharks out of the courtroom.

Years ago, the triangle at the 10/12 split was overgrown with weeds and dandelions. The state put up signs that said "Wildflower Area". I joked at the time that it was cheaper than actually cutting the grass.

Later I found out...I wasn't joking.

This state is a sewer.

Yeah, there's always a shortage of "shitting on BR" threads

Their current solution to the problem is basically the equivalent of this

It's obviously a serious problem even though DOTD will insist it's not. They just DON'T GIVE A shite about fixing it right now because there are other, more important, PET projects to complete first. People aren't gonna get rich by addressing the actual problems.

It's gotten noticeably worse with all this rain we've been getting.

I’m pretty sure DOTD is trying to frick shite up as much as they can so they can point to it all and say they need more tax money.

Reality is they are rolling in money but only a very small percent of it goes to actually building and maintaining things.

So you think the dirt is keeping the overpass up?
