I have to agree. Thursday was my first visit, and I just didn't see what all the fuss is about. Sure, it's a LOT cleaner than most interstate gas stations, and the beef jerky I bought was tasty, but no way I'd pull in there when it's as crowded as it normally is.

Well, they are the best gas stations in America hands down. Hard to be overrated when you're the best there is.

What caused the one in BR to fall through? Sucks because it was going to be pretty close to my house.

The location was a little weird to begin with, I would have thought they would have gone for something in West Baton Rouge, or further down 12 into Livingston Parish. The access to the site would require some logistical changes which means local permits and highway dollars. That of course allowed the local and state politicians to get involved and make demands.

When the flood hit that area in 2016, that gave Buc-ee's the chance to break their agreement with the landowner / developer. It was an easy out for them. The flood issues could have been worked around, but they were pissed they wanted out so used the out the flood gave them.

The experience was so bad that they have basically said LA is no longer in their expansion plans, and are now working on more in AL/FL/GA/TN.

Stopped at the one in Royse City yesterday morning and everything was normal. The only people I saw wearing masks were the employees.

It gets slammed, no doubt. But it's so big that I find even when the summer crowd is slamming it... it doesn't take long to get what you need and check out.

I really look forward to shitting there

Their bathrooms are very nice, but there is so much constant in and out going on there you won't have any peace while you're on the pooper.

That area isn't very easy to navigate. I don't know who designed Millerville near Target but it's absolutely terrible. Half of the time I'm forced to take a right and turn around in a neighborhood.

They may be the best gas stations and have the cleanest restrooms but in no way are they such an attraction that you should make plans around stopping at one on vacation.

You have to get gas, drop the kids off at the pool, get snacks somewhere. Why not stop at the best place?

Everyone is slammed to the hilt with people spending money like it is growing on trees. That is a sure sign of being overrated. They took a dumpy little gas station that started down in Freeport that lured mostly offshore guys because they sold cheap ice and had clean shitters into what they have now.

It's more the getting in and out of the parking lot, and finding an available gas pump if I need gas than the store itself. I did take notice of how spacious it is inside the store, so can see how easy it would be to navigate once inside. But I've seen the line to turn into it off the Baldwin Beach Express backup for over a mile during the summer when everyone is leaving town. No thank you.

As you get closer and turn onto the little road to the right, keep going down that road, there is a back entrance and you can park on the side if you don't need gas, or if you do need gas, you can just drive along the store to the pump area.

You are welcome.

Not sure where you're talking about, but I'm talking about the back up for the left turn arrow off Baldwin Beach Express heading towards the interstate. I'm not sitting in that traffic to go to a gas station. It's definitely a lot easier to navigate as you're coming off the interstate.

Gotcha, yeah I was talking about from the interstate. There is a little side road and most people turn in off the first entry, but if you go down to the second entry, it's easier.
