It’s psychosomatic mostly. For instance, some people poop a lot before a big event like a wedding day or a big test that means a lot.
Your brain (in your head) is causing your organs to have a response. But the stimulus is internal.

Life-changing events...I've had several attacks in the last 5 years. I've had two panic attacks and was on ant-depressants and anxiety meds....After about 6 months I said F-this.
I'm dealing with back and knee injuries and went back to exercising almost daily...that was better for me to deal with issues.
Excercise and talking to friends and family often.

Both.
Some people have real issues, some people seek attention by faking issues.

It's very real, and I believe it is exacerbated by technology. The more I'm on my phone, internet etc, the worse my anxiety.

Anxiety is an overactive fight/flight to some experts. I would say that's pretty damn real

Panic attacks caused by Panic Disorder are different from general anxiety. One can have both or like in my case had no general anxiety..like none... was in great physical shape and generally calm as a Hindu cow but developed panic disorder out of no where. I could be chilling watching TV, at dinner, or just going about my day art work and suddenly my heart would race, I would sweat, become dizzy, and feel like I was going to pass out. This went on for months and after an ER visit when I thought I was having a heart attack , I got some help. I went on Paxil for about a year and it stopped what ever was causing these panic attacks. I quit Paxil and never suffered panic attacks like that again 12 years later.
The is still a question as to what causes them and one interesting one I've read is that something goes faulty in your brains oxygen sensor(for lack of a better word) where it thinks you are being deprived of oxygen and goes into panic mode. At any case the SSRI seemed to prevent this from happening with me.

It’s your head that causes anxiety. It’s 100% real and 100% in your head.

Very real. I used to be of the mindset "just deal with it" until I had my first panic attack. Real true anxiety that includes panic attacks is nothing close to the same thing as everyday stress.
Imagine having symptoms that make you think you're having a heart attack while being hyper aware of every personal issue you have going on. All the while your mind is racing. You're tired, but you can't sleep because your racing mind won't allow you too. The next day the lack of sleep adds to the anxiety, your mind continues to race even more, etc. It becomes a cycle that can be very tough to break.

This. I wouldn’t wish panic attacks on anyone, but I wish all of the “suck it up, get outside and exercise” naysayers could experience just one.

Marijuana helps though. I have gummies that I use every now and then. It's like a vacation from it when it hits.
My brother in law suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. He tried some gummies a while back and he had a terrible panic attack, and continues to have them because now he believes that they messed up his brain somehow.

I started having panic attacks after watching my mom die in front of me from a brain aneurysm when I was 19. I just started having a constant feeling of dread and fear about life and death after that. The therapist I started going to explained it as part of the "fight or flight" instinct humans have hardwired into them.
My brain was working overtime and subconsciously sending signals to my body that something dangerous or bad was going to happen so my body responded by releasing hormones that are a part of our survival mode. This put my thoughts into overdrive. Basically, I was being pumped full of adrenaline to combat whatever my brain was saying was a danger.
Suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for about a year or so. I had a few more occasionally in my younger years, usually preceded by several days of anxiety.
Didn't want to get on medicine and learned to work through them. When the first one happened, it scared the shite out of me. I thought I was having a heart attack. It usually started with a tingling feeling in my feet and legs, moved up my body with my heart racing and I would start hyperventilating. I felt like I was going to blackout. Strangest damn feeling. Always felt a calm and serenity after the episode was over, though, for a while afterwards.
I haven't had one in several years since. I think I just learned to take things in stride a little better as I got older and not to dwell so much on what could be instead of what is actually happening and to work on worrying only on those things I can actually control. I try to live in the moment more nowadays.

Everyone has anxiety to some degree, it’s just a matter of how you deal with it. Obviously some life events can have more of an effect on people vs. those who haven’t gone through as much adversity..
I will say that some people eat fast food every day, don’t exercise, look at social media all day, and then wonder why they’re so stressed out

Real mental health issues are serious. Also, yes every girl claims to have this.

It's in your head and it's real.

Not always associated with anxiety, believe it or not.
Anxiety attacks and panic attacks are very real though.

I've always had anxiety, for the most trivial stuff (tasting coffee or a food I've never tried before). As I matured, I've learned to just rip the band-aid off because it's never as bad as it seems and once you do it once, it becomes commonplace. My son suffers from similar anxiety, and it's like a puzzle to get him out of his comfort zone. I just have to hope he figures it out as he matures that these trivial things aren't that serious and wasting time on it will only make life worse.

Yeah, I tried using it to combat my anxiety and panic attacks when I first started having them. It just made the anxiety more pronounced for me. Paying attention to the early signs and using breathing/relaxation techniques helped the most.
