I always thought it had more to do with the literal abomination brought about by the decisions of the angels who did not keep their first estate.

Not that you can’t kill two birds with one stone.

Although, I suppose that the beginning of the seed war did have roots in sexual perversion as well.

Part of it was because of man’s great wickedness, but part of it was to destroy the progeny of the Nephilim.
Man has been just as wicked throughout history as they were during Noah’s time, but God never destroyed all flesh again.
Something was unique about that period and it was the Nephilim and their spawn.
Unfortunately, the Nephilim were still around after the flood, which poses some interesting questions.
How did they survive.
Some say the flood wasn’t global, so some survived. I believe the Bible is clear the flood was universal and all flesh, besides Noah and the other few would be killed.
Some say the fallen angles once again slept with the daughters of men after the flood. I don’t think this is possible, because the Bible says God chained them in gloomy caverns until the judgement for that sin.
I think Ham’s wife still had Nephilim DNA in her and it was spread to her offspring.
Read about the decedents of Ham and where they settled.
One of those places was Canaan, which was the Holy land, and as the Bible describes , filled with giants.
Plus one of Ham’s dependents was Nimrod, who was also believed to be a giant.
God instructed the Israelites to kill those clans who included giants, and it was the main reason God instructed them to kill every
Man, woman, boy and girl. It’s also why God was so adamant about the Israelites not intermarrying with other groups.

Graham Hancock and Russell Carlson did a podcast with Joe Rogan on Gobekli Tepi and other pre 10,000BC civilizations discoveries (including the Americas). One of Joe's best (#961).

Both have a few podcasts with Rogan.

This is really not a mainstream church teaching. Not saying it’s not believed or taught but it’s a significant minority. Like maybe single digit % points.

More and more people are realizing that there was a massive cataclysm roughly 12000 years ago that destroyed almost everything. We have been rebuilding ever since. There’s evidence everywhere that there was a global civilization prior to that catastrophe

Very plausible and this theory explains many things that some people would rather just make up because they dont know the truth. For example, humans just cruise along for millions of year and boom figure out how to build a pyramid over night relatively speaking. There just too many oral stories of past civilizations to think in the last 5000 years we figured so much out in a short timespan.

If you read the book of Enoch, some of the fallen angels imparted wisdom to ancient man that God never intended them to have. For instance, the Angel Azazel taught men how to make weapons of metal, about war and killing.
The Angel Semyaza thought men about sorcery, incantations and such.
It’s quite possible they also taught them the skills needed to build the pyramids. After all, they had previously built part of the tower of Babel.

The more I see and read about the pyramids and the more evidence I see, I just can’t fathom any civilization that existed at that current time building them. It’s far too advanced. I think they are far older and those a-hole Egyptologists are desperately hiding that fact. Honestly, some of it just seems silly to me

Why do we have the ability to think and reason if we are supposed to blindly accept what is taught to us without question?

That biblical reference to the Nephelim as "heroes" doesn't seem to fit the rest of the narrative. Maybe they just didn't have a word for "celebrity".

The offspring of the fallen angels and human woman were called mighty men, men of renown. Their exploits must have been wondrous, and no doubt, the subject of lore. Many believe they are the characters who were worshipped by ancient civilizations. Demigods like Thor and the Titans for instance.
