Alexandria is a great place to raise a family, if it weren’t for dumbass LA politics me and the ole lady would consider moving there. Affordable, plenty of good places to eat, traffic doesn’t suck, and decent public schools.

We can get Smoothie King while we wait and some new kicks at Run Wild.

There are two boot stores still open in Alex. Economy shutdown because too many people were tired of their shite and quit buying from them. For some reason businesses in Alex feel that if you’re from the area that you “owe” them your business. Loewer cycle comes to mind. I’ve actually been told that by a salesman. It’s really a crazy phenomenon.

They're really bad about this with vehicles too. I compared the prices on my truck with BR and Lafayette. I literally went to the dealership and gave them the price they needed to hit. They acted as if I would just pay 4k more because I can say "i bought it in ellick"

Took my arse down to Lafayette and got the price I wanted.

Sad days when a town can’t support two western boot stores now-a-days.
I see that as a sign of progress.

Lived in Alex since college: Good place to raise kids. Excellent location for outdoor activity, probably best in the state. Great zoo for the size of the town. Fair to middling restaurant and bar choices, but commensurate with the size of town. Below average music and culture scene, but improving with River Fete, Winter Fete, Funktoberfest, and the newly renovated Coliseum.

I don't know what that is. I just know having fewer Western and boot stores is a sign of
progress.

That's like saying we need more disc golf courses rather than REAL golf courses. Just dumb.

Are you from there? The only people who say that Alexandria doesn't completely suck are from that area

It's not at all. It means a place is becoming less redneck.

Car buying is the only negative I have found in Alexandria. I'll never try it again.

Now that you bring that up, both would apply.
