People don't think "I want some Cajun food... lets book a trip to Alexandria." That doesn't mean that Alexandria doesn't have good food, just that in your opinion it doesn't have good Cajun cuisine... your opinion is wrong however. I listed a number of places earlier in this thread with some great cuisine, both Cajun and non-Cajun... you just don't want to admit that when you go through Alexandria, you don't eat anywhere other than Logans or Texas Roadhouse.

ETA: It's not just my opinion, either. I take many clients out to eat and they all fare the same that the food is just "OK". Not to mention, the first thing they usually say is, "Lets go get some Boudin or Red Beans and Rice or Jambalaya." Brocatos is about the only place that is close to good southern food

Alex is a small town (less than 50k) in LA with no larger cities within 2 hours of it. It has no real industry and no real colleges.
Yes. It kinda sucks. But most places with those specs are going to suck. It has nothing to do with the people or culture (or lack thereof).

Alexandria is a great place to raise a family, if it weren’t for dumbass LA politics me and the ole lady would consider moving there. Affordable, plenty of good places to eat, traffic doesn’t suck, and decent public schools. Anyone who wants to shite on Alexandria can meet me at the Mac’s parking lot on Jackson Street.
